GENERAL NOTES:
1. ALL WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROJECT SPECIAL
PROVISIONS, THE STANDARD SPECl~CATIONS FOR PUBLJC WOPRKS
CONSTRUCTION (GREENBOOK), 201 ~ EDITION AND ALL SUPPLEMENTS,
THE CALTRANS STANDARD PLANS, IT>ATED 2015, THE CALIFORNIA
MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONjfROL DEVICES (CA MUTCD, REV 6),
DATED JANUARY 2014, THESE PLANS, AND THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH STANDARDS AND POLICIES. I
2. THE LAYOUT FOR ALL PROPOSED li'AVEMENT MARKINGS AND/OR
TRAFFIC STRIPING SHALL BE "PRE-fMARKED" AND/OR "CAT-TRACKED"
FOR INSPECTION BY THE ENGINEER OR HIS REPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TO
FINAL APPLICATION OF PAVEMENT MARKINGS OR STRIPING.
3. THE EXACT LOCATION OF ALL PER~ANENT PAVEMENT MARKINGS,
TRAFFIC STRIPING, AND/OR SIGNAG'E SHALL BE ACCEPTED BY THE
ENGINEER OR HIS REPRESENTATIVE:! PRIOR TO APPLICATION.
4. MATERIALS SHALL COMPLY WITH sJcTION 214-"TRAFFIC STRIPING,
CURB AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS AND PAVEMENT MARKERS" OF THE
SPECIAL PROVISIONS.
5. UNLESS OTI-IERWISE NOTED, FINAL TRIPING SHALL REFLECTORIZED
THERMOPLASTIC AND APPLIED PER THE SPECIAL PROVISIONS.
6. INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNS S~ALL BE PER THE SPECIAL
PROVISIONS AND INSTALLED ON NEIW POSTS, EXISTING POSTS, OR
EXISTING STREET LIGHTS WITH NEW BRACKETS AND STAINLESS STEEL
HARDWARE. ALL SIGNS INSTALLED ON BICYCLE SIDEWALKS SHALL
PROVIDE 8 FT MIN. CLEARANCE Tq BOTTOM OF SIGN (EXCEPT R26 OR
R28 SIGNS). SEE CITY STANDARD DRAWING NO 924-L.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE l LIL CONFLICTING TRAFFIC STRIPING
AND PAVEMENT MARKING BY WET SANDBLASTING.
8. BUFFERED BIKE LANES SHALL INC JUDE DIAGONAL STRIPES BETWEEN
BIKE LANE AND BUFFER STRIPE. THE DIAGONAL STRIPE SHALL BE 6
INCH WHILE AT 45 DEGREE ANGLE, AND PLACED AT 40 FOOT
INTERVALS. I
9. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, INDUCTIVE LOOPS SHALL BE 6' CIRCULAR
CALTRANS TYPE E AND CENTERED I IN THE TRAVEL PORTION OF THE
LANE. PLACE LIMIT LINE LOOPS IMMEDIATELY IN ADVANCE OF
CROSSWALK OR LIMIT LINE, IF NO CROSSWALK, NEW STRIPING SHALL
BE LOCATED AND APPROVED PRIO~ TO POSITIONING LOOPS . SEE CITY
STANDARD DRAWING NOS. 923-L-r AND 923-L-B.
10. RB1 (CA) SIGNS TO BE 12" X B".
11. INSTALL BLUE REFLECTIVE MARKER,S AT EVERY FIRE HYDRANT PER CITY
STANDARD PLAN STD-902-L.
12. PAVEMENT MARKERS AND TRAFFIC LINES DETAILS SHALL BE PER THE
2010 CALTRANS STANDARD PLANS
