THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL ADDITIONAL CONSTRUCTION SURVEYING NECESSARY BEYOND OCSD OFFSET LINE AND GRADE STAKE PER GENERAL REQUIREMENTS GR-34, TO SUPPORT AND COMPLETE THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT. THE TOP OF PROJECT MANHOLE RIMS MAY BE USED FOR BASIS OF ELEVATION AT EACH SITE. ALL GIPP INSTALLATION LENGTHS SHALL BE MEASURED, CONFIRMED AND CONSTRUCTED TO MATCH BY THE CONTRACTOR. 8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL FEDERAL, STATE, COUNTY AND CITY LAWS AND ORDINANCES RELATING TO SAFETY AND CHARACTER OF THE WORK, EQUIPMENT AND LABOR PERSONNEL. THIS SHALL INCLUDE, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, THE SHORING OF TRENCHES, VENTILATION OF CONFINED SPACES, CONFORMANCE TO TRAFFIC CONTROL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF BARRICADES AND THE PREPARATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL PLANS AS REQUIRED. 9. FOR ALL TRENCHING EXCAVATIONS FOUR (4) FEET OR MORE IN DEPTH, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN A PERMIT FORM THE CALIFORNIA OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION (OSHA) DIVISION OF SAFETY PRIOR TO BEGINNING ANY EXCAVATION. A COPY OF THIS PERMIT SHALL BE AVAILABLE AT THE CONSTRUCTION SITE AT ALL TIMES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INSTALLATION AND DESIGN OF THE EXCAVATION SHORING SYSTEMS REQUIRED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT SHORING SHOP DRAWINGS AND CALCULATIONS CONFORMING TO CALIFORNIA OSHA REQUIREMENTS AND THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING THESE DRAWINGS AND PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS. ALL SHORING DESIGNS AND CALCULATIONS ARE TO BE PREPARED BY A CALIFORNIA REGISTERED CIVIL ENGINEER OR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER FOR OCSD RECORD PURPOSES PRIOR TO STARTING THE WORK. 10. ALL PRODUCTS LISTED BY MAKE AND MODEL MAY BE SUBSTITUTED WITH AN "EQUAL" PRODUCT ONLY UPON WRITTEN REQUEST BY CONTRACTOR AND ACCEPTANCE BY DESIGN ENGINEER, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. 11. BIDDERS ARE URGED TO VISIT THE SITES TO VERIFY EXISTING SITES AND FACILITY CONDITIONS AND SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT PRIOR TO SUBMITTING BIDS. ACCESS INTO MANHOLES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE DURING PRE-BID. IT IS THE CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY TO BE SUFFICIENTLY FAMILIAR WITH EACH WORK SITE TO INCLUDE ALL THE TIME, MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, CREW, AND WORK NECESSARY TO CONSTRUCT COMPLETE AND OPERABLE TEMPORARY BY-PASS SYSTEM. 12. CONTRACTOR SHALL REPLACE ALL EXISTING TRAFFIC CONTROL STRIPING, SIGNAGE, IN-PAVING CONTROL WIRE LOOPS, WIRES BETWEEN TRAFFIC LIGHTS, SIGNAL CONDUIT, WIRE BETWEEN TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND CONTROL BOX INCLUDING INTERSECTION CROSSINGS, IN KIND. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH CITY INTERSECTION SIGNAL TIMING. CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH CITY'S GENERAL NOTES REGARDING PROTECTING IN PLACE, AND REPLACING TRAFFIC LOOPS AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO OCSD. 13. CONTRACTOR MAY USE OCSD OWNED SEWER PIPELINE FOR DISPOSAL OF LEGAL CONSTRUCTION WATER. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND INSTALL UP TO 24 MISSING MANHOLE COVER BOLTS AND ANCILLARY HARDWARE. BOLTS, NUTS WASHERS SHALL BE TYPE 316 STAINLESS STEEL, SIZE EQUAL TO EXISTING BOLTS OR SIZE 1 ½ INCH DIAMETER BY 6 INCH LONG. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY SIZE IN FIELD PRIOR TO PURCHASE. CONTRACTOR SHALL APPLY LIBERAL AMOUNTS OF ANTI-SEIZE ON BOLTS BEFORE INSTALLATION. FINAL CLOSURE OF MANHOLE SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH OCSD PROCEDURES.
