GENERAL
l, Al1 construction and workrnansh·lp shall conform to the 1973 !Jniforlil Building Code.
2. Contractor must verify all di:11ensions and site conditons before starting work.

TESTS AND INSPEC,-,ONS
1. All cement, reinforcing steel, etc. shall be from tested stock. Copies of test
reports shall be furnished the City upmi request.
2. Continuous inspectfon shai1 be provided by the C-ity for a11 field v,elc.!'ing.
CONCRETE
L No pipes or ducts are to be placed in concrete footings unless specifically detailed.

3. A11 ccncrete shall attain a ,ninimc;'TI compressive strength of 2500 psi at 28 days.

7. Minimum concrete coven,ge: The following minimum clear distances between rein-
forcing steel ar,d face of concrete shall be maintained unless ncted otherwise:

8. Reir1forcing steel shall conform to ASTM ,1;615, Grade 40.
9. Reinforcing fabric sha11 conform to ASTM (\185.
10. Anchor bolts, dowels, inserts, etc. shall be securely tied in p1ace prior· to ~he
pouring of c.ny concrete or grout.
11. All v;eiding shall bE done by the eh:ctric arc process usir1g approved coated rods
and performed by certified welders. \t!eiding rna_y be perforrr:ed using the sub-
n1erged arc process with automatic welding (S/U4-1). Low hydrogen electrodes shall
be used in 1•1elding of reinforcing bars.
12. Cement shail be portland cement conforming to ASTM C-150, Type II, low alkali.

520~ C-2500. Concrete for handba 11 court 1va 11 s, µ1 ayi ng surface. and foundati ens
shall be Closs S50-C-3250.

l. Foundations shall be as indicated on the drawings.
2. All existing fill so·i1 and di,sturbed natur-ul soils are to be excavated and replaced
v;ith properly compacted fill. All filling, backfilling~ recompactio11+ etc. is to
be accom;Jlished only under the supervisicn of the City.
3. All excavations are to be ir:spected anG approved b_y the City prior to the placement
of any fi 11 or reinforcing steel.
4. Design bearing pressure is 1000 psf for footings placed a minimJm distance of 12
inches below approved finished gra.c.ie. The desigr bea,ring pressure is increased
33% for seismic or wind loading.
5. Design lateral bearing pressure is 250 psf/ft w·ith a 33% increase for seismic or
wind 1oadfog.
6. Design coefficient of friction 'is 0.40 i,11th a 33% increase for seismic or wind
loading.
7. All P.C.C. slabs to have 4" of i1T.pot-td.i aggregate base underneath slab.
