FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION, 1994 EDITION.
3. THE PRECEDENCE OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS FOR THIS CONTRACT:
a. PERMITS FROM OTHER AGENCIES AS MAY BE REQUIRED BY LAW;

DEMOLITION NOTES:
1. PRIOR TO STARTING ANY WORK, CONTRACTOR SHALL VIDEOTAPE
IN THE PRESENCE OF THE ENGINEER ALL PIER AREAS,
FURNISHINGS, EXPOSED BUILDINGS, STAGING AND STORAGE AREA,
AND PLAZA PAVEMENT AREA USED FOR ACCESS. VIDEOTAPE
SHALL BE FILMED BY A PROFESSIONAL VIDEO PRODUCTION

NEATLY SAW CUT THE MINIMUM AREA OF CONCRETE DECK AND
2X DECKING NECESSARY TO EXPOSE THE TOPS OF THE TWO
STRINGERS AND THE CLEAR SPACE BETWEEN THEM THAT IS
CLOSEST TO THE PILE TO BE REPLACED.
THE LIMIT OF SAW CUT AREA SHALL BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH
PAINT BY THE CONTRACTOR TWO DAYS BEFORE SAW CUTTING
IS SCHEDULED. THE LIMITS OF CUTTING SHALL BE APPROVED
BY THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO ANY DECK REMOVAL.

SECTION 210-3 OF THE SSPWC.
2. ALL ANGLES AND PLATE SHALL BE ASTM A 36 U.N.0. HOT-DIP GALVANIZE
AFTER FABRICATION PER SECTION 210-3 OF THE SSPWC.
3. ALL HARDWARE AND METAL IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH ALUMINUM SHALL BE
ASTM A 167 TYPE 316 STAINLESS STEEL.

6. EXPOSED SURFACE CONDITION OF ALUMINUM SHEETS, PLATES, AND
EXTRUSIONS SHALL BE FREE OF ROLL MARKS, SCRATCHES, KINKS, STAINS,
PITS, ORANGE PEEL, DIE MARKS, STRUCTURAL STREAKS, AND ANY OTHER
DEFECTS WHICH WILL EFFECT UNIFORM APPEARANCE OF FINISHED
SURFACES.
7. ALL WELDING PROCEDURES AND INSPECTION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE
WITH ANSI/AWS D1 .1-98. USE E70xx LOW HYDROGEN ELECTRODES OR
EQUIVALENT WIRE .
8. SUBMIT SHOP DRAWINGS TO CITY ENGINEER FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO
FABRICATING ANY METAL .
