It can be seen that not only was there a lack of unanimity about the merit of the individual
pieces, but different jurors had different understandings of how to use the seven possible
numbers. Chair Ignatin, for example, assigned quite a few 7’s and even more 1’s, while Juror
Williams confined her scores entirely to the range of 2 to 5 (I believe the jurors using the widest
range of scores have the most effect on the averages, and hence the ranks).
There is much more that could be said about this, but will be interesting to see how the public
rankings compare to those assigned by the jury.
