Mr. Ernest Sheg, Chairman of the Architectural • Committee of the Cameo Community Association was present and stated that the Board of Directors has reviewed the preliminary plans and it was their understanding that the exist- ing views would in no way be impaired. Pre - liminary.approval was given on the basis of the fact that the property encroaching.beyond the tie line would be below,grade. The plans are still subject to final approval by the Committee. Company agreed to a continuance of the public hearing until January 18, 1968 but requested in the interim that Use Permit No. 1305 which permits 2 temporary identification signs in the median at the entrance to Newport Center from the Coast Highway be extended for a period of 30 days. The Commission approved the re- Motion x quested extension. Second x All Ayes. COMMUNICATIONS The Commission considered a request dated 1. December 13, 1967 signed by George M. Olsen for an extension.of Use Permit No. 1244 which permits on -sale alcoholic beverages and Use Permit No. 1272 which permits live entertain -. ment at 3295 Newport Blvd. (White Horse Inn). Mr. Olsen was present at the meeting. Mr. Richard.W. Atwell who owns property at 400 Clubhouse Avenue was present and objected to noise at late hours and to the way the trash was handled. Mr. Olsen agreed that there had been some un- satisfactory occurrences but that every effort was being made to remedy them. The Commission approved.a 1 year extension for Page 8.
