TEE NEWPORT BEACH CITY PUNNING COMMISSION met in regular session, Wed, eve.,
January 21st, 1942 at 7.30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Newpbrt
Beach, California, Chairman Johnson presiding.
Commissioners present:& stus ,FA11,Hopkins,Seager,Johnson, Nelson : ROLL
a absent t Findlay, Allen and Patterson. CALL
Chairman Johnson called for consideration of the minutes of Dec. 17, 194Q MINUTES
Cam. Estes moved the minutes be approved as written, which motion was
seconded by Cam. Hopkins. Motion carried and so ordered by the Chairman,.
Chairman $eager read the formal request from the City Council, signed by FIRST
the City Clerk, covering the rezoning of the above described land from $,-2 HEARING ON
to R-3 zone. Toe Secretary stated that at the meeting held Dec. 17, 1941, REzONING OF
a motion was made that he obtain a request, in writing for the rezoning!of LOTS 11,13,
this property from the City Clerk in order to keep our records in good or- 15,16,17,
der. The City Clerk had not previously advised that the City Council rq- 18,19,20,
quested this rezoning. Chairman Johnson opened discussion on this matter 21 & 22 IN
by inquiring if any written protests had been received. None had been and BLS 732,
neither was there anyone present to protest this rezoning. Thereupon, Com. CORONA. DEL
Estes moved that this matter be continued to second hearing at the next MAR FROMHr-2
regular meeting, February 18th, 1942. Motion seconded by Com. Hall; carried TO R -3 ZONE
and so ordered by the Chairman.
Blocks 531 and 631, Corona Del Mar, City of Newport Beach, approximately 4* REPORT OF
acres. Secretary Seeger advised that a meeting had been held and the matter COMMITTEE
discussed with Mr. Ed. I. Moore of the School Board and that the sense of APPOINTED
the Committee was to endorse the site for the purpose of school grounds TO INSPECT
building, etc., since no element was present which would disqualify it for PROPOSED
such purpose. Secretary Seeger then moved the adoption of Resolution NQ.196 SCHOOL SITE
endorsing the selection of the School Board and recommending the purchase of CORONA 32L
the property in question for that purpose. Motion seconded by Cam. Hopkins; MAR.
carried and so. ordered by the Chairman.
Cam. Estes made a motion to adjourn which motion was seconded by Cam. Hall. ADJOURNMENT
Motion carried and was so ordered.
