On nation of Hal Will Smith and second by Mr. Vogel the minutes of previous meeting were disT)ensed with. The subject under discussion for the evening was Zoning; with John Vogel as Chairman of this special committee. The, corgmission had the pleasure of hkar.ing from various members of committee aNpointed by the Chamber of Conner.ee, which presented the views of the Chamber relative to zoning. The Chamber of CoiLaer.ce being represented by the following members, Mr Watkins, Theo Robbins, Harry Williamson, Louie Briggs, W.L.Jordan, and Claude Pullen. The general consensus of opinion as expressed by the respective representatives of Chamber of Commerce was that speedy action should be taken be the Planning Commission so that an efficient and comprehensive zoning ordinance might be drawn and adopted to meet not only the present requirements ofthe City butalso keeping in mind tre future welfare of the couuunity. Chai rman Vogel thereupon called upon Mr Tilton who very ably covered the requisites of proper zoning od:inance and the various steps that would be necessary inorder to work out an ordinance that would , present as well as the f Yr Tilton stated should takinp, in the entire nit au: t be drawn in such a vested rights. et the demands of the ure. City Planning Commission artvising that a ne. ordinance be drafted and passea by the City Counc covering the organization and set up )f the • Planning Coimission for the reason that the present ordinance which was drawn to conform with legislative act of 1927 had been repealed by the legislature in an act of I929. Mr. Tilton advisee, that he would ar.aw proper ordinance to cover the emergency and would forward :arse to the City Council for approval.
