As chairman of the Newport Beach Planning Commission, as
directed by the Commission at the most recent regular meeting, I am
appointing the following committees: ,
Faster Plan Committee
Dr. Howard W. Seeger, Chairman.
-John Allen (Chairman of Postwar Plan Committee;
—Mark Johnson (Chairman of Traffic Plan Committee)
1—Pete Nelson
.Harold Hopkins
Traffic Plan Committee
dark Johnson, Chairman
-'0. Ai. Campbell

Both committees have immediate assignments in regard to present
particular needs; the Master Plan Committee will be giving attention to
the recommendations for a site for a new City Hall and the surrounding
developments and later the buildings themselves; the Traffic Plan Committee
will study at this time the improvement of Central Avenue and the problems
of the areas served by that avenue. Both committees should at this same
time be considering the more general problems of the Master Plan, the
Traffic Plan Committee giving the whole traffic problem thorough study.
that it may report back to the Master Plan Committee for final consider-
ation and the drafting of recommendations to the Planning Commission.
I believe these committees provide the machinery which will enable
the Commission to formulate a constructive program which it can recommend to
the City Council. My personal feeling is one of encouragement.
