All Ayes On motion of Commissioner Picker, seconded by Commissioner Rudd, and carried, a public hearing was Motion set for April 7, 1960 to consider amendments to the Second swimming pool ordinance. All Ayes COMMUNICATI 16S Presented to the Commission was a communication dated March 3, 1960 from the Orange County Planning Depart- ' ment wherein it was requested that the City of Newport Beach submit recommendations pertaining to the propose rezoning of certain property located in the Santa Ana Heights District from an A -1 to an R -1, R -4 and E -4 Zone. After careful consideration of the exhibit presented with the request and remarks by Mr. Wm. H. Spurgeon, 3,d, representative of the Irvine Company, the Commission moved that the rezoning from an A -1 to an R -4 Zone and from an A -1 to an E -4 Zone be endorsed and that the rezoning of the school site and property between Bayview and Cypress Street from an A -1 to an R -1 Zone be endorsed. The Commission recommended that the Irvine property located easterly of Bayview, with exception of the school site, be not rezoned because of the unsettled conditions pertaining to possible realignment of Mac Arthur Freeway, Palisades Road and Jamboree Road and because of the direct relation Motion x that the Irvine property has to the proposed Second x University site.
