March 18, 1942 at 7.30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hallo Newport Beach, California, Chairman Johnson presiding. COMMISSIONERS presents Estus. Hall, Allen, $eager, Johnson ROLL CALL s absent s Findlay, Hopkins, Nelson & Patterson. The Chairman called for consideration of the minutes of.previms meetings. MINUTES The minutes of Jan. 81st were called for discussion. Own. Estes roads a motive these minutes be approved as written, which motion was seconded by Cam. Hall. The minutes of February 3rd ware then taken ap and motion made by Corn. Esters that they be approved as written, motion being seconded ly Cam. Hall. Chr.. Johnson called for discussion on minutes of February 18th and motion was also made by Cam. Betas that they also be approved as written. This motion seconded by Cam. Hall. The above motions having been carried; Chairdwa dobason so or- dered. Chairman declared the second hearing on matter open for discussion. There be- ing no one present to protest and the Secretary advising that no written pro- RE70NING tests had been received a* this matter, Cam. Allen moved the adoption of Res- FROM R -? olution No. 198 recommending that Lots 110 13, 150 169 17, 186 19, 20, 21 and TO R -3 ZONE 22, Block 732, Corona Del Mar be rezoned from R-2 to R-3 zone and that the LOTS IN be transmitted to the City Council by the Secretary as the recommendation of BLR 732, this commission and a copy be filed as part of the record. Seconded by Came. CORONA DEL MLR Ball. Motion carried and so ordered by the Chairman. ' At this point, Commissioners Nelson and Patterson arrived. Gam. Patterson gave Secretary Seeger a letter from City Attorney Roland Thump. son together with application for change of sane of city owned property, and APPLICATION other properties affected by option to lease by South Coast Company. Patterson advised that it was his belief that the Pacific Eloctmie Company realize this is not being rezoned permanently, otherwise, they would not favor it. He said the reason for this request is the proposed Use of .it by South Coast Company for novel construction for the duration. Cam. Johnson said that while be was in favor of its he believes the Comoiseion will be within its rights to recommend the rezoning with the provision it be changed back afterward. Cam. Patterson said this would not be done except for the defense program and that the Planning Commission could males a gnslified roo- amnondation, Secretary Seeger called attention to the fine point there. Motion seconded IW Cam, Estes. Motion carried and so ordered. Cam. Estes made a motion that the Secretary be instructed to advertise tba matter in the proper manner for a first hearing. Com.
