The Planning Commission.of the City of Newport
Beach met in special session at the City Hall,
at 4 P. M., Friday, April 6, 192B.
MEMBERS PRESENT: VU lliamson, r'enelon1 Sloan,
Greeley, Briggs, & Kressly.
Mr. Whitnall's report of progress was read and
approved.
The proposed Parkinson Island Development was
studied with John P. Ellsbach and John Counselman.
A motion was offered by Sloan, seconded by Fenelon`
and carried, that Mr. Harry Welch be informed that
the Planning Commission does not feel that it is
in a position to recommend that the City enter
into any lease of County Channel frontage at this
time, as the territory owned by the City is not
yet determined.
A motion was offered by Greeley,seconded by Sloan
and carried, that the Planning Commission tenta-
tively approve,the development plan of Parkinson
Island as submitted, subject to Mr. Whitnall's
unqualified written approval.
Mr. Lew H. Wallace appeared before the Commission
to give the Commission the advantage of his inti-
mate knowledge of tide lands owned and claimed
by the City of Newport Beach.
The application of E. D. Burge for permission to
construct a pier at the foot of Adams Street was
considered and upon motion by Greeley, seconded
by Sloan and carried, the Commission voted to
postpone any action on the Burge application until
More definite information is presented.
There were no plans submitted and no definite
information was available as to the amount of
frontage required.
The Commission adjourned at 6 P. DR.
