Technology - Anaerobic Digester
State-of-the-Art AD Facility
• Methane gas is captured and converted into clean
renewable natural gas (RNG)
• Equivalent to replacing 750,000 gallons of diesel
fuel each year
• Environmentally sound, superior product
• Organics (green and food waste) are converted into
high-grade organic soil amendment
o Used for farming, wineries, and landscaping
Renewable Natural Gas
• RNG is SB 1383 compliant
• RecycLA vehicles may be fueled with the RNG we
produce
• City will get SB 1383 Procurement Credit for RNG
Technology – Engineered Low Carbon Fuel
CR&R’s Engineered Fuel to Replace Coal
• A solution to “Zero Waste”
• Residual from recyclables are sent to the
Engineered Fuel plant vs. going to the landfill
• Converts non-recyclable waste into bioenergy for
industrial use
o Sold to local cement kilns (84% cleaner than
coal)
• New to California, but standard in other Countries
• Less expensive than future landfill rates
Future Technology
Tesla Tractors
• CR&R is ordered 10 Tesla Tractors
Ending Plastic Waste
• Senate Bill 54 (2022 Plastics Act)
• By 2032, 100% of single-use plastic must be
recyclable or compostable, with a 25% reduction
in plastic packaging
• Producers of single-use plastic will pay fees to
support recycling and composting infrastructure
• We are currently commercializing a process to
convert all plastics #1-7, flexibles, and film into a
building product additive
• Plant up and running by the end of 2027
o We are currently in testing with several building
product manufacturers
