held at the Newport Harbor Yacht Club, at 9t45 P.Mol
Monday, May 69 1929,
Present: L. W. Briggs, Eugene isnelon,'H. L. Sherman,
E. G. Sherman, and L. S. Wilkinson.
Absents Harry Williamson,
John J. Wilson, Los Angeles attorney, stated that cert-
ain parties owning property on the East Bay Avenue watb
or front, were willing to use their influence to effect
the passage of the Sant& Monica Harbor Bill, which might
prove of benefit to Newport Harbor provided the city
would abandaon Bay Avenue between 434 and ILO Streets.
A Besontion -was then presented by L. W. Briggs which was
carried by the following votes
Ayest Briggs, Heselon, and E. G. Sherman.'
Noes: None.
Not Voting: B. L. Sherman and L. S. Wilkinson.
Resolution of the city Planning commission
City of Newport Beach, Cal,
RESOLVED, THAT WHEREAS the owners of property abutting
Bay Avenue between eB" and sLe Streets have by a 100%
petition requated the vacation of Bay Avenue between
said mentioned streeta;
AND WHEREAS after giving the matter due consideration it
appears from all of the facts and ¢iecumstances presented
that it will be to the best interests of the city and bar•
bor development as a whole to cause the abandonment of same$
NOW, TAE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Planning Comm-
ission of the city of Newport Beach that it do now, on maj-
ority vote of the five members present, recommend to the
city council that said city of Newport Beach do by proper
proceedings cause Bay Avenue between ONO and aIIF Streets
to be abandoned.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
