Commissioner dumping-.;, Copelin asked if anyone wished to speak relative to the Granted 0ity's application; there being no response, Commissioner wightman made a motion that the application be granted, seconded by Commissioner Reed and carried by the follow- ing roll call vote, to -wit: AYES: Copelin, Lind, Reed, Rudd, Smith, Wightman.. NOES: None ABSENT: Briggs, Longmoor, Pleger. Thompson, H. S. Application No. 88 of H. S. Thompson for a Use Permit improve a non- to allow the modernization of present non- conforming conforming bldg.building at 200 30th Street, Newport Beach, being Lot 200 30th St. 19 Block 1292 Lake Tract. Commissioner Lind gave the Granted committee report and stated that it would be a much needed improvement for the area and recommended that the application be approved. Thereupon, Commissioner Lind moved the application be granted, seconded by Commis- sioner Wightman and carried by the following roll call vote, to -wits AYES: Copelin, Lind, Reed, Rudd, Smith, Wightman. NOES; None ABSENT: Briggs, Longmoor, Pleger. In the absence of Chairman Longmoor, Secretary Copelin presided as Acting Chairman and called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. The roll was called, the following members answering Roll Call present: Copelin, Lind, Reed, Rudd, Smith, & Wightman. Commissioners Briggs, Longmoor, & Pleger being absent. Upon motion of Commissioner Reed, seconded by Commissioner Minutes Rudd and carried, the minutes of the last regular meeting approved of April 16th were approved as submitted to the Commission. USE PERMITS.• Carter, Eunice Application No. 86 of Eunice G. Carter to operate a day nursery school nursery school at 1025 West Balboa Blvd., Newport Beach, withdrawn being Lots 17 & 18, Block 10 of Tract 234. Mrs. Carter planned to take care of ten �10 children. Commissioner Copelin stated that he had talked with Mrs. Carter and explained to her that the premises did not begin to mea- sure up to State standards and there wouldn't be a chance to get the Use Permit through at the present time. Mrs. Carter agreed to withdraw the application at this time and was informed that her application fee would hold over to a later date.
