regular session June 17th, 1936, at 7:30 P.M. at
the City Hall. Chairman Parks presiding.
Present: Parks, Baum Palmer, F. W. Briff s, and
Consultant fiilton.
Absent: tars. Williams, Patterson, Williamson, and
the City Attorney,
Minutes: The minutes of Special 's'eeting of 'May 27,
1936, were read and approved as read.
Public Hearing: The Chairman announced. that this
wa.s the time and place to hear interested parties
in regard to the proposed widening of 11arine Ave.
and the proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance.'
There being no persons ;-)resent Iesiring to be heard,
and no co=unications, the Chairr:ian asked for a
motion from the Commission, whereupon Comm. Baum
moved that the Secretary be instructed to inform
the. C` ty Council that due to the increase in traf-
fic and 'incidental parking on I.I.rine Avenue,, and
the conseouent diffic,..lty in handling fire equip-
ment, thnt Com�ission dee:a;^ there is an urgent need
to widen and pave La.rine Avenue from Park Avenue
north to,the brill ~e by an akditional ten feet on
each siex ,of the said street; further, that
acquisition by the city of Lot lE, in Block 14,
and Lot 21 in Bloc.t 13, both in Section Four, is
desirable on account of the depreciated use value
remaining in a bsenty foot lot and the advantages
of the reeulting 100 -foot entrance to the bridge
which ;night be ;riven some landscaping treat-.,lent.

approved -tile R1-ht of ',lay Deed to the County of
Oran -re fromm the Harbor Island bridge head to the
new County road.
Chief Croc1�er: The Fire Chief ao ;eared and asked
for interpretations of sections of the Ordinance
applying to gasoline storage in C -1 Districts.
Interr_retations: Blecfi limits apply to the frontage
block, meaning, the frontage on a street bet'meen two
intersecting streets.

ir. Tilton Suggested that the next step should be

Plan.
Chief Croc'_zer asked if this plan would. facilitate
the oroolem of answering fire calls, and cited
instances of as much as fifteen minutes being re-
