THE NEWPORT BEACH CITY PLANNING COMMISSION met in Special session at 12 noon
at Heins laiserle Cafe on Coast Highnmy, Newport Beach, California, Chairman
Hopkins presiding.
Commissioners presents Hopkins, Seager, Johnson, Campbell, Findlay ROLL, CALL
Nelson and Patterson
". absents Finch and Allen
The Chairman asked the Secretary to read the application of the West Coast I WEST COAST
Packing Company. Secretary Seager complied, reading the application in whiA PACKING
the West Coast Packing Company requested a conditional permit to reconstruct COMPANY
and remodel the building on the lot described as follows:
"Description of the Property"
This request was made: under Section 11, Par 6 of Ordinance No. 4dD.
The Chairman advised the only adtion the Commission could take would be send
the matter to hearing as described in the Ordinance.
After some discussion, Com. Patterson moved a special meeting be held on this
matter at 7146 P M on August 12 for the purpose of conducting a hearing on
the application of the West Coast Packing Corporation having to do with the
alteration of a non - conforming use. Cam. Johnson seconded. Motion carried and
so ordered. Cis:. Patterson added to his motion that the matter be advertised
as of August 4, 1942.
Before handing the letter to Secretary to read, Chr. Hopkins expressed it his
pleasant duty to do so: Letter signed by all present Commissioners.

At the last meeting of the Newport Beach City Planning Commission, that body
unanimously voted that the Secretary be instructed to express their sincere
appreciation for your painstaking, constructive leadership of that bodn as
its Chairman for the past twelve months.
The result of your efforts will continue to be manifest in the upbuilding of
Newport Beach as a community in which it will be better to live. Please ac-
cept the appreciation of your fellow commissioners for your patient and effic-
ient guidance.
