COMMUNICATIONS
1.
The Planning Commission considered Building Department
memorandum dated September 5, 1962 signed by Don Range,
Assistant Civil Engineer, pertaining to swimming pools,
and after considerable discussion advised Mr. Range, who
was present in the audience, that it was the interpreta-
tion of the Commission that any diving platform, diving
board or railings appurtenant to swimming pools be not
over 6' in height in any required side or rear yard
setback.

The Commission further stated that setbacks for swimming

and Donald K. Olson for an extension of one year on

ADDITIONAL BUSINESS
1. October 18, 1962 at 8 :00 P.M., in the City Council Chambers
was set as the date, time and place to consider the
rezoning of City owned property paralleling Newport Blvd
between 26th and 28th Streets, Newport Beach, from an

2. The Planning Commission considered a memorandum from the
Assistant Public Works Director pertaining to street
name changes and made the following recommendations to

1. That the name of Bonita Lane, between Mariners
Drive and the southerly boundary of Tract No.
3004, be changed to Dorothy Lane.
2. That the name of Bayside Drive on the easterly

on motion of Commissioner Higbie, seconded by Commis-
