All Ayes ADDITIONAL BUSINESS 11 The Commission considered an appeal filed by William Christensen, appealing from a decision of the Building Department denying his application for a building permit. The Building Department denied the building application for the reason that, in their opinion, the proposed • additional structure constituted a second dwelling unit and should not be permitted since the required garage space was not being provided., The Planning Commission, after reviewing the plans and hearing testimony at the meeting, overruled the decision of the Building Department with the condition that the owner sign a statement, to be prepared by the City Attorney's office and to be recorded, agreeing Motion x that if this addition ever becomes a second family Second x unit, a second garage will have to be provided. All Ayes 2. Resolution No. 652, being a resolution of the Planning Commission of the City of Newport Beach recommending to the City Council the refinement and extension of the Master Plan of the City of Newport Beach, was Motion x adopted and forwarded to the City Council for considera Second x tion. At the request of the City Council, the following committees were appointed by Chairman Clemence to work with members of the City Council in connection with (a) a proposed Zoning Board of Adjustments and (b) a proposed Grading Ordinance, Page 3.
