Nuzum Helen Herrmann MINUTES On motion of Commissioner Brown, seconded by Commissioner Glass, and carried, the minutes o October 2, 1969 were approved. Item 1. USE PERMir Request for extension of a use permit allowing on -sale liquor in connection with bonafide eating facilities and in conjunction with club 90. 1233 CONTINUED facilities and further permitting patron danci and live entertainment for club members and g UNTIL NOV. 6 their guests, as well as permission to rent th facilities to private parties. A use permit is required since the establishment is within 200 feet of a residential district. Location: Portion of Block 52, Irvine's Subdivision located at 2601 Eastbl ff Drive, westerly side of Eastbluff Drive, north of Vista del Sol. Zone: C -N -H and R- 4- B -2 -UL Applicant: Newport Beach Tennis Club, Newport Beac.h Owner: The Irvine Company, Newport Beach • Chairman Jakosky stated that since he was not present at the meeting when this matter was first discussed, he was disqualifying himself; Commissioner Brown had stepped down at the previous meeting and intended to do so again, Page 1. Second x All Aye Mr. Harry Babbitt, General Manager of the Newport Beach Tennis Club inquired as to the status of the use permit inasmuch as the expir - tion date is October 18, 1969. City Attorney Seymour stated that until the Commission takes action, the use permit would be considered as continuing for the interim period. Item 2. I i USE PERMI Request to construct and operate a drive -in, take -out restaurant. Location: Lots 22 and 23, Tract 1210 locate at 720 West Coast Highway, on the N 07 7 9 CONTINUED UNTIL DE 18 north side of West Coast Highway opposite the Bayshores community. Zone: C -1 -H Applicant: Alexander Torbitt III, Newport Beach Owner: Bay Club Development, Newport Beach Mr. John Hopwood represented the applicant, who also was present. Mr. Hopwood requested a continuance until December 18, 1969 to give the applicant an opportunity to work out a plan which he hoped would be more favorably received by the Plan- ning Commission. Newport Beach Mr. Paul Ruffing with William P. Ficker, A.I.A and Mr. Iverson, the applicant, were present. All Ayes COMMUNICATIONS The Commission considered a request from Mr. 1. • Bob Davis, Chairman, Newport Harbor Lutheran Church, requesting deferrment of use permit condition requiring construction of a 6 foot masonry wall along the southerly property line (Use Permit No. 1231). Mr. Harold Newman represented the church. He stated that the church had an option to purchase the adjacent property in which event the wall would be a detriment to their development plan .
