Mr Donald Kirby talked along the line of different types of architecture and brought to the commission the many complex difficulties encountered in forth definite planning restrictions. He suggested more uniform bldgs, larger lots thus stressing the need of more room for homes and less congestion giving the appearance of freedom for the home owner rather than congestion. air Kirby thought this could best be accomplished by a practical means of approach, thru means of education bythe cooperative aid of Realty Hoards, Builders and Public Exhibits- Ur Smith then called on der ;'Tilton for his views on the matter of housing. ter Tilton gave the meeting the benefit of his wide experience and related what has been accomplishea at Santa L5arbare along the line of architecture and just how public; opinion had been changed thus providing beauty in construction not only in homes but also in construction of commercial blugs. • ' The speaker advanced the view that our City could best attain improvements along this line.thrt zoning rather than by means of architectural control.
