AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
i NEWPORT BEACH LEVYING A,
TAX UPON ALL THE TAXABLE
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, WHICH IS
TAXABLE THEREIN FOR MU -,
NICIPAL PURPOSES, FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR OF 1916-17 -
The Board of Trustees of the City
of Newport Beach do ordain as fol-
lows:
Section 1. A property tax is hereby
levied upon all of the taxable prop-
erty in the City of Newport Beach,'
which is taxable therein for municipal
purposes; said tax Is levied for the
purpose of raising $21,827.59 to carry
on the various departments of the
City of Newport Beach for the fiscal
year of 1916 -17. The total number of
cents levied upon each one hundred
dollars of assessed value of the as-
sessable property in the City of New-
port Beach is hereby fixed at 100
cents, divided and designated for each
fund as follows:
For the salary fund, 30 cents.
For the street fund, 40 cents.
For the current expense fund, 30,
cents.
In addition to all other taxes here-
in levied for municipal purposes,
there is further levied on each one
hundred dollars of assessed value of
the assessable property In the City of
Newport Beach, the sum of 30 cents
for the purpose of raising $6,310.00, a
sum sufficient to pay the annual in-
terest and such part of the principal
� of the outstanding and unpaid mu-
nicipal bonds of the City of Newport
Beach as shall become due before the
time for fixing the next general tax
levy.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be
'signed by the President of the Board
of Trustees of the City of Newport l
.Beach and attested by the Clerk
thereof, and shall be printed and pub-
lished once in the "Newport News,"
a newspaper, printed, published and
circulated in the City of Newport
Beach, and thereupon it shall take
.effect and be in force.
The above and foregoing Ordinance,
No. 126 was passed at a regular meet -I

City of Newport Beach held on the
4th day of September, 1916, by the'
following vote, and on said day was
