ORDINANCE NO. 131.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISH.;;
ING A BOARD OF HEALTH FOR
SAID CITY, AND REGULATING,
THE APPOINTMENT OF MEM-
BERS THEREOF.
The Board of Trustees of the City,
of Newport Beach do ordain as fol-
lows:
Section 1. A Board of Health for I
' the City of Newport Beach is hereby l
established and shall consist of five
1 (5) members to be appointed by the.
Board of Trustees and to hold office at
the pleasure of said Board of Trns- I
tees.
Section 2. In appointing members,
of the Board of Health the Board of
Trustees shall appoint at least one
member thereof who is a practicing
i physician and a graduate of some'
reputable school of medicine and shall,
if practicable, appoint one member who 1.
is a civil engineer.
Section 3. The Board of Health
shall be vested with the powers and
I shall exercise the functions provided
for Boards of Health by Section 3061
of the Political Code of the State of i
California.
Section 4 This Ordinance shall:
take effect and be in force thirty days
from its final passage and in the mean
time it shall be printed and published
once in the Newport News, a news -
paper published and circulated in the i
City of Newport Beach.
The above and foregoing Ordinance
No. 131 was passed at a regular meet -I
ing of the Board of Trustees of the
'City of Newport Beach held on the
1 16th day of April, 1917, by the tol-
lowing vote, to -wit:
Ayes— Trustees S. R. Jumper, Glenn
Helms, G. P. Wilson, H. A. Robinson,
. J. C. McCain.
' Noes —None.
i Absent —None.
The above and foregoing Ordinance)
No. 131 is approved by me this 16th I
day of April, 1917.
