PURPOSES A CERTAIN PORTION

T'HEREAS. the Board of Trustees
of the City of Newport Beach on the
20th day of August. 1923. at a regu-
lar meeting of the said Board of Trus-
tees. held on that date. duly passed
and adopted a Resolution. being Res -,
j olution No. 260, entitled. "A Resolu
,tion of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Newport Beach declaring their'
lintention to vacate, close -up and
labandon for public street purposes)
'certain portions of Coast Boulevard)
I within the said City'. and
WHEREAS. the Street Superinten- 1
dent of the City of Newport Beach
after the passage of said Resolution
caused to be conspicuously posted
along the line of said contemplated
.improvement at not more than three
hundred feet in distance apart upon
said street, and not less than three
in a1L.n,pon said street, notices of the
p'6dgage o€lsaid resolution. said no-
tice being headed. "Notice of Public
'Work." in letters not less than one
inch in length and stating the fact
!of the passage of said Resolution.

THEREFORE. the Board of Trus,
tees of the City of Newport Beach da
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1.
That that portion of the public
jstreet hereinafter described within
the said city be closed -up. vacated
land abandoned for public street pur-
poses: said portion of said street so
closed -up. vacated and abandoned for
public street purposes is described as
follows:
(a) All that portion of Coast Boul-
evard within the said City described
as beginning at the intersection of the
southeasterly line of 30th Street and)
the northeasterly line of Coast Boul-
evard: thence southeasterly along the
northeasterly line of Coast Boul-
evard to its intersection with the
northeasterly prolongation of the
northwesterly line of 29th Street:

westerly line of 29th Street a distance
of 23.11 feet to a point! thence north-
westerly along a line which line is 42
feet northeasterly of and parallel

westerly along a line which line is
42 feet northeasterly of and parallel
with the southwesterly line of Coast
Boulevard to its Intersection With the
northeasterly prolongation of the
southeasterly line of 29th Street:

northeastern' prolongation of the
northwesterly line of 26th Street:
thence southwesterly along the north-
easterly prolongation of the northwes-
terly line of 26th Street 23 feet to a
point; thence northwesterly along a
line which line is 42 feet northeaster-
ly of and parallel with the southwes-
terly line of Coast Boulevard to its in-
tersection with the northeasterly pro-
longation of the southeasterly line of

along the northeasterly prolongation

a distance of 23 feet to the place of
beginning.
(e) Beginning at the intersection
of the northeasterly prolongation of
the southeasterly line of, 26th Street
and the northeasterly line of Coast
Boulevard; thence southeasterly along
the northeasterly line of Coast Boul-
evard to its intersection with the
northeasterly prolongation of the
northwesterly line of 25th Street:
thence southwesterly along the north-
easterly prolongation of the north-
westerly line of 25th Street a distance
of 23 feet to a point: thence northwes-
terly along a line which line is 42
feet northeasterly of and parallel with
the southwesterly line of Coast Boul-
evard to its intersection with the
northeasterly prolongation of the

(f) Beginning at the intersection
of the northeasterly prolongation of
the southeasterly line of 25th Street
and the northeasterly line of Coast
Boulevard: thence southeasterly along,
the northeasterly line of Coast Boul-

Railroad Company's right -of -way:
thence southerly along the westerly
line of the Southern Pacific Railroad
Company's right -of -way to its inter-
section with the northeasterly prolon-
gation of the northWesterly line of
24th Street: thence southwesterly-
along the northeasterly prolongation
of the northwesterly line of 24th
Street to its intersection with a line
which line is 42 feet northeasterly of
and parallel with that portion. of the
southwesterly line of Coast Boulevard
lying northwesterly of 24th Street;

which line is 42 feet northeasterly of
and parallel with the southwesterly
line of Coast Boulevard to its intersec-
tion with the northeasterly prolonga-
tion of the southeasterly line of 25th
Street: thence northeasterly along
the northeasterly prolongation of the
southeasterly line of 25th Street a
distance of 23 feet to the place of
beginning.
(g) Beginning at the intersection
of the northeasterly prolongation of
the southeasterly line of 24th Street
and a line 40 feet northeasterly of
and parallel with the southwesterly
line of that part of Coast Boulevard
lying southeasterly of 24th Street-
thence southeasterly along a line
which line is 40 feet northeasterly
of and parallel with the southwester-
ly line of that part of Coast Boule-
vard lying immediately southeaster-
ly of 24th Street to its intersection
with the westerly line of the Southern
Pacific Railroad Company's right -of.
way: thence northwesterly along the
westerly line of the Southern Pacific
Railroad Company's right -of -way to
its intersection with the northeaster-
ly prolongation of the southeasterly
line of 24th Street: thence southwes
terly along the northeasterly prolon-
gation of the southeasterly line of '
24th Street to the place of beginning. t
SECTION 2
That the public work herein pro-
vided for is the closing up of the
street herein described in Section 1,
and it appearing to the Board of
Trustees that there are no costs. dam-
ages or expense occasioned by or
arising out of said work. and that
no assessment is necessary to pay
the costs. daunlages or expenses of
said work, and that therefore no
commissioners shall be appointed to
assess benefits and damages.
SECTION 3.
The City Clork shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance and shall
cause the same to be published by
one insertion in the Newport News.
a weekly newspaper printed, publish-
ed and circulated in said City and
which is hereby designated for that
purpose.
