ANCE, SUCH ELECTION SHALL BE HELD AS PROYID. ED BY LAW FOR HOLDING MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS IN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH. The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. The Board of - Trustees of the' city of Newport Beach, as the leg illative branch thereof, hereby or- ders the submission of the propo -1 sitions of incurring a bonded, debt for the purposes set forth in Resolution No. 363 of the city of Newport Beach to the qualified voters of said city. The estimated cost of the pro- posed acquisition of fire apparatus; :a the sum of $13,000.00, and the auiouut of the principal of the in- debtedness to be incurred therefor is the sum of $18,000 which sum will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and i revenue of the city of Newport Beach. 1 2nd. To pay the cost of the con - .. structiou by the city of Newport Beach of a building for municipal uses consisting of a fire engine house in which to house, keep, and protect the fire apparatus of the 'l city of Newport Beach. The estimated cost of the pro- posed construction of a fire engine house In the sum of $12.000.00, and the amount of the principal of the ;indebtedness to be incurred there- for Is the sum of $12,000.00, which t sum will be too great to be pald� out of the ordinary annual ;¢- come and revenue of the city oY Newport Beach. For the purposes of the submis- siou to the qualified voters of the City of Newport Beach the propo. sitions of iuc'.:rring a bonded debt for the said objects and purposes, a special election is hereby called . and ordered to be held at, in, and for the city of Newport Beach on \louday, the 12th day- of April, 11926, is hereby fixed as the date l on which the said election will be held. And any qualified voter may vote "NO" and against either or both of the prop - ositlous by stamping a cross (X) in the voting square at the right of the word "NO" following the proposition voted upon. SECTION 5. For the ,purpose of holding the special election the city of New- port Beach is subdivided into and shall constitute and be composed of five special election precincts. If at the special election two - thirds or more of all the voters voting thereat shall vote ,ypg'• and in favor of incurring a bond- •. ed debt by the city of Newport Beach in the sum of $18,000.00 for the acquisition of fire apparatus, then the issuance of bonds of the city Of Newport Beach in said sum and for said purpose shall be authorized. If at the special election two - thirds or more of all the voters voting thereat shall vote "yES,' and in favor of incurring a bond- ed debt by the city of Newport Beach in the sum of $12,000,00 for the construction of a fire engine louse, then the Issuance of bonds of the city of Newport Beach in said sum and for said purpose shall be authorized. SECTION 7. Any and all Indebtedness which may be authorized at the special election shall be represented by bonds of the city of Newport Beach.. y�5j7 'aud the bonds shall be issued and sold by the Board of Trustees of said city as they may determine, but for not les than their par value and the interest accrued thereon Iat the .date of their delivery_ A ,part of the amount of the whole of the principal represented by the bonds shall be pald each and every year on a date aud _g the place to ,0 fixed by the Board of Trustees file city of Newport Beach and designated in the bond, together with the interest on all sums no- paid at such date, provided, that no less than one - fortieth part of the whole amount of such bonds shall be paid each year. SECTION S. There being no newspaper pub- lished in the city of Newport Beach stx days a week, this ordiu- ance shall be published once a week for two weeks in NEWPORT NEWS, a weekly newspaper pub. lished and circulated in the city Of Newport Beach less than six days, to -wit: once a week, and one insertion each week for two suc- ceeding weeks shall be a sufft- cieut publication in said Newport News. This ordi once and the publics - tiou thereof, as he provided, shall constitute the notice of the special election and no other no- tice need be given. The above and foregoing Ordin- auce No. 287 was regularly intro- duced before the Board of Trus- . tees of the city of Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof held the 18th day of January, 1926, and passed at a regular meeting there- of, held the 1st day of March, 1926, by the affirmative vote of the fol- lowing named two - thirds and more of all members of the said Board of Trustees: Ayes — Trustees — WILSON, SLOAN, YOUNG, RICHTER, WIL- KINSON. NICKERSON, Clerk City of Newport Beach. Pub. March 4, 11, 18, 19:6. ORDNANCE NO. 938. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMEND. ING SECTION I OF ORDO. ANCE NO. 188 OF SAID CITY. The Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 182 of the city of Newport Beach is hereby amended so as to read as follows: SECTION 1. There Shall he a Building Iu- Spector and such assistant in- spectors as the Board of Trustees may deem necessary, appointed by and holding office at the pleasure of the Board. It shall be the duty of the Building Inspector to make such inspections as may be necessary to ;see that the provisions of this Ordinance and the Tenement House Act, Hotel and Lodging House Act, and Dwelling House Act, all of the State of California, are complied with. It shall be the further duty of the Building Inspector to bring action in the proper Court against any party or parties who violate the provisions of this Ordinance or the above mentioned Acts of the State of California with the purpose of having such ,party or parties pen- alized as provided for in the sev- eral statutes. The Building Inspector is here- by given authority to enter any building in the City of Newport Beach to the performance of his duties, and is further given auth- ority to order and compel the suspensions of any or all work or the occupancy of any building on which any work is being done, or which is being occupied in viola - tiou of the provisions of this Or- dinauce, or the above mentioned acts of the State of California. The Building Inspector and the assistant building inspectors shall_ receive sucfi—remuueration as the, Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach shall from time to' time decide upon. SECTION 2. The above and foregoing Ordiu- ance shall be printed and publish- ed once in NEWPORT NEWS, a newspaper of general circulation printed, published and circulated in the city of Newport Beach and shall take effect and be In force thirty (30) days after its passage.
