AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DE-
CLARLNO VACANT FOR PUB-
LIC STREET PURPOSES CER.
TAIN PORTIONS OF OLIVE
STREET, SONORA STREET
AND CERTAIN ALLEYS WITH-
IN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the Board of True_
tees of the City of : Wport Beach,
Ion the 18th day of January, 1926,
at a regular meeting of said Board
held on that date, duly passed and
adopted a Resolution, being Reso-
lution No. 364, entitled, "A Reso-
lution of the Board of Trustees of
the City of Newport Beach declar-
ing their intention to vacate, close -
up and abandon for public Street
,purposes, Certain portions of Olive
Street, Sonora Street and certain
alleys within said City "; and
WHEREAS, the Street Superin-
tendent of the City of Newport
Beach after the passage of said
Resolution caused to be conspic-
uously posted along the line of
said contemplated improvernput, at
,not more than three (3) hundred
i feet in distance apart upon said
,streets, and not less than three (3)
:in all upon said streets, notices of
the passage of said Resolution,
said notice being headed, "Notice
of Public Work," in letters not less
than one (1) inch in length and
stating the fact of the passage of
said Resolution, its date and brief -

',posed, being that of vacating the
(above named streets as herein-
after describe(!, and the said no-
tice herein mentioned referred to
said Resolution for further partic -,
ulars; said Street Superintendent;
having also caused a notice sho
lar to that hereinbefore referred
to to be published by four succes-
sive insertions in the Newport
News, a semi - weekly newspaper
printed, published and circulated
in said City of Newport Beach
(there being no daily newspaper
so printed, published and circulat-
ed in said City) and more than ten
(10) days after the expiration of
the time of Publication oI said no-
tice having elapsed and no oblec-
tions to the said improvement
have been delivered to the City
Clerk of the City of Newport
Beach, and the said Board of Trus-
tees having acquired jurisdiction
to order the vacation of said streets
as hereinafter described;
THEREFORE, The Board of
( Trustees of the City of Newport
Beach do ordain as fellows:
SECTION I.
That those portions of the Public
streets hereinafter described, with -
lin said City, be closed -up, vacated
'and abandoned for public street
,purposes. The said Portions of
said streets so closed -up, vacated
and abandoned for public street
purposes are described as follows:
(1) All that portion of Olive
Street within said City. from the
northeasterly line of the State
Highway to the northeasterly line
IOt the El Moro Tract, as per Map
thereof recorded in Miscellaneous
Maps Book 8, page 76, Records of
Orange County, California.
(2) All that portion of the alley,
within said City, extending north-
easterly and southwesterly through
E1ock 13. of the Seashore COlon,
Tract, as per map thereof record-
ed in Miscellaneous Maps Book.7,
page 26, Records of Orange County,
California, and Block E or the El
Moro Tract, as per map thereof
recorded in Miscellaneous Maps
Book 8, Page 76, Records of Orange
County, California, from the north-
easterly line of the State Highway
to the northeasterly boundary line .
of the aforesaid El Moro Tract.
(3) All that portion of Sonora
Street, within said City,. from the
northeasterly line of the State
Highway to the northeasterlyboun-
darY line of the El Moro Tract, as,
per Map thereof recorded in MIS-'
cellaneous Maps Book 8, page 76,'
Records of Orange County, Cali-
fornia.
(4) All that portion of the, al-
ley extending northeasterly and
southwesterly through Block 12, of
the Seashore Colony Tract„ as per
Map thereof recorded in Miscell-
aneous Maps Book 7, page 26, Rec-
ords of Orange County,. California,
and Block F of the EI Moro Tract,
as per Map thereof recorded in
Miscellaneous Maps Book 8, page
76, Records of Orange County,
California, from the northeasterly
line of the State Highway to the
northeasterly boundary line of the
aforesaid El Moro Tract.
SECTION II.
That the Public work herein pro-
vided for is the closing -up of the
.streets herein described in Sec -
tion I. and it appearing to the
Board of Trustees that there are
no costs, damages or expense oc
Icasioned by or arising out of said
I work, and that no assessment is
;necessary to pay the costs, datn-
ages or expenses of said work, and
that therefore no commissioners
shall be appointed to assess bene-
fits and damages.
SECTION III.
The City Clerk shall certify to
the passage of this Ordinance and
,shall cause the same to be pub-
lished by one insertion in the
Newport News, a weekly news-
' paper printed, published and cir-
culated in said City, and which is
hereby designated for that purpose.
