ORDINANCE NO. 357.
AN ORDLQANCE AMENDLYG
SECTION 33 OF ORDINANCE
NO 315 OF THE CITY OF NEW
! PORT BEACH.
The City Council of the City of •I
Newport Beacii do ordain as fol-
lows:
Section 1. Section 33 of Ordin,
ante No. 345 of the City of New-
port Beach is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"PARIING LIMITED IN SPECI-
FIED PLACES.
The operator of a vehicle shall
not park such vehicle for longer
than fifteen (15) minutes on the
i east side of Ocean Boulevard be-
tween Twenty -First Street and
Twenty- Second Street, between the
hours of eight o'clock A. M. and
seven o'clock P. M. on any day,
and subject to the special restric-
tions imposed by Sections 31 and
32, and ,provided further that it
shall be unlawful for an operator
of a vehicle to park such vehicle
for longer than one (1) hour within
the central traffic district or any
business district between the hour
of eight o'clock A. M. and seven
o'clock P. M. on any day, and sub-
ject to the special restrictions im-
posed by Sections 31 and 32, and
subject to the fifteen (15) minute
period hereinbefore Specified.
Signs shall be erected and main-
tained not more than one hundred
fifty (150) feet apart in each block
designating the provisions of this
section."
Section 2. This Ordinance shall
be published once in Newport
News, a newspaper of general cir-
culation, printed, published and
circulated in the City of Newport
Beach, and shall take effect and be
Iin force thirty days after its pass-
age.

at a regular meeting thereof held
on the 4th day of March, 1929, by
the following vote, to -wit:

ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: None.

VLDINC FOR THE LICENSING
THEREOF, THE COLLECTION
OF LICENSES AND PENAL-
TIES FOR THE VIOLATION
THEREOF, AND REPEALING
ALL OTHER ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT THEREWITH.
i The City Council of the City of
Newport Beach do ordain as fol-
lows:
Section 1. The words "Vending
Machine' as used in this Ordin-
ance are Intended to mean, shall
mean and embrace any mechanical
contrivance, apparatus or machine,
which, by the operation thereof,
releases or discharges any article
of merchandise to or for the use
and benefit of the person operating
the same and which is operated by
the ,placing therein of any coin,
'disk, slug, ball or other object.
Section 2. The words "Penny
Arcade" as used in this Ordinance)
! are intended to mean and shall,
mean a business of running a'i
penny arcade or a place of amuse-
ment where coins, slugs, checks or
other representatives of value are
used, dropped or placed in any mu -'
'sic box, phonograph, picture ma-
ebine or other device or apparatus
used for the purpose of furnishing
entertainment or tests of skill or
strength.
Section 3. Vending machines as
herein defined which shall be op-
erated by the placing therein of a
coin, disk, slug, ball or other ob-
i ject representing a value of not to
exceed one cent (1c), shall pay an-
nually to the City of Newport
Beach, a license fee of $2.00 for
