ORDINANCE NO. 393 OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT REACH
IS AMENDED BY ADDING
TWO SECTIONS THERETO,
TO BE KNOWN AS AND

93a AND 93b.
The City Council of the City of
Newport Beach does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No.
393 of the City of Newport Beach
is hereby amended by adding two
new sections thereto to be known
as 93a and 93b, respectively, and
to read as follows:
93a. The rate of license for en-
gaging in or carrying on the busi-
ness of selling at retail or at
wholesale, cut flowers, trees,
shrubs, vines, growing flowers or
plants, floral pieces or displays,
potteries containing plants or
flowers, shall be $25.00 per annum,
and in this connection, the engag-
ing in or carrying on the business
herein specified, shall be construed
under the terms of this ordinance
as a separate and distinct business
and no person shall be entitled to
engage therein or carry on said
business without obtaining a Sep-
arate license therefor.
' 93b. The rate of license for
engaging in or carrying on the
business of soliciting orders for
flowers, trees, shrubs, vines, grow-
ing flowers or plants, floral pieces
or displays, or potteries containing
plants or 'flowers, or peddling
flowers, trees, shrubs, vines, grow-
ing flowers or plants, floral pieces
or displays or potteries containing
plants or flowers, from door to
door, is hereby fixed at $25.00 per
annum.
SECTION 2. This ordinance
shall he published once in NEW-
PORT NEWS, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed and
published and circulated in the
city of Newport Beach, and this
ordinance shall take effect and be

in force from and after the 1st day
of July, 1935.
The above and foregoing ordin-
ance No. 434 was passed at a reg-
ular meeting of the city council of
the City of Newport Beach held on
the 3rd day of June, 1935, by the
following vote, to -wit:
AYES, Councilmen: Gordon,
Claire, Ellsworth, Garfield, Hilmer.
NOES, Councilmen: None.
ABSENT, Councilmen: None.
The above and foregoing ordin-
ance is approved and signed by me
this 4th day of June, 1935.
