AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH A-
MENDING SECTION 27 -0 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 180 OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH.
The City of Newport Beach, by
and through its City Council.

does ordain as follows:
Section 1, Section 27 -c of Or-
dinance No. 180 Of the City of
Newport Beach is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"27 -c. It shall be unlawful
to erect or construct any moor-
ing unless the same shall sub-
stantially conform to the following
specifications:
(a) All moorings shall be of
metal.
(b) Moorings and buoys shall
be constructed of metal and shall
be SO COnstr -ted that some por-
tion thereof shall extend out of
the water at Mast five inches,
at all times.
(c) All chains and fastenings
shall be of sufficient size to
stand a breaking strain of at least
six times the weight of the moor-

ing.
(d) &locring buoys shall be
painted white or aluminum in
color and there shall be painted
on said buoy and be legible at
all times, the number allocated to
the moorings by the Harbor Mas-
ter of the City of Newport Beach,
and the Harbor Master has, in
this connection, the right and duty
of allocating a number to each
mooring in Newport Harbor.
(e) Painters, chains and fas-
tenings on buoys shall be kept in
good and servicabie condition at
all times and shall be so arranged
that when dropped they will
immediately sink.
(f) All boats and vessels
using moorings in Newport Har-
bor in the City of Newport Beach
shall be firmly anchored from
bow and stern in such a manner
as to prevent said boats from
sinking, turning and drifting."
Section -' This ordinance shall
be printed and published once in
•
NEWPORT NEWS, a newspaper
printed, published and circulated
in the City of Newport Beach,
and shall take effect and be in
force thirty days after its pass-
age.
The above and foregoing ordi-
nance was introduced at a regu-
lar meeting of the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach
held on the 3rd day of May, 1937,
and was finally passed and
adopted on the 17th day of May,
1957, by said City Council at an
adjourned regular meeting there-
of by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Gordon.
Claire, Whitson, Williamson.
NOES, COUNCILMED*.: None,
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: Gar-
field.

nance is signed and approved by
me this 17th day of May, 1987.
