ORDINANCE NO. 476
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
393 OF SAID CITY BY ADD-
ING NEW SECTIONS THERE-
TO TO BE KNOWN AND
DESIGNATED AS SECTIONS
22 -A, 22 -B AND 22 -C.
The City of Newport Beach, by
and through its City Council,
does ordain as fo1'.ows:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 393
of the City of icewport Beach, is
hereby amended by adding new
sections thereto to be known and
designated in gala Ordinance as
Sections 22 -A, 22 -B and 22 -C, to
read a; follows:
22 -A. The rate of license
for the business of operating
or conducting the business of
placing punch boards in the
City of Newport Beach, shall
be One Hundred Fifty (150)
Dollars per annum; and for
every punch board in excess
of one hundred fifty (150). —
One (1) Dollar in addition to
the license fee of One Hun-
dred Fifty (150) Dollars as
aforesaid.
22 -B. It shall be unlawful
for any firm, person, or cor-
poration to operate or permit
to be operated, or place in
operation or permit to be
placed in operation any punch
board in the City of Newport
Beach, upon which the license
has not been paid as provided
for in the previous section.
22 -C. It shall be unlawful
for any person, firm rr cor-
poration to operate or per-
mit to be operated, or place
or permit to be placed any
punch board in any place of
business in the City of New-
port Beach, without there be-
ing attached to said punch
board a statement to the effect
that said license on said punch
board has been paid, duly
signed by the License Col-
lector of the City of Newport
Beach.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance
shall be published once in the
"NEWPORT BALBOA NEWS -
TIMES;' a newspaper of general
circulation, printed and published
and circulated in the City of
Newport Beach, and this Ordi-
nance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after the 21st
day of October, 1938.
The above and foregoing Ordi-
nance No. 476, was passed at a
regular meeting of the City Coun-
cil of the City of Newport Beach,
held on the 25th day of August,
1938, by the following vote, to.
wit:
AYES, Councilmen: Claire,
Whitson, Brown, Williamson.
NOES, Councilmen: None.
ABSENT, Councilmen: Gordon.
The above and foregoing Ordi-
nance No. 476, is approved and
signed by me this 25th day of
August, 1938.
