.. ORDINANCE NO. 493
The City of Newport Beach, by
and through the City Council, does
ordain as follows:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 379 of
the City of Newport Beach is
hereby amended by adding a new
section thereto to be known as
Section 22a, and to read as fol-
lows:
"Section 22a. TEMPORARY
CERTIFICATE. It shall be lawful
for the Plumbing Inspector of the
City of Newport Beach and the
Health Officer of said city joint-
ly to issue a temporary certifi-
cate to any journeyman who shall
have a valid unrevoked journey-
man's certificate issued to him
by the examining board of any
city in the State of California,
which said temporary certificate,
If unreeoked, shall permit such
journeyman plumber to work in
the City of Newport Beach .until
the next examination for journey-
men plumbers shall be held in
the City of Newport Beach. No
journeyman plumber shall be giv-
en mere than one temporary cer-
tificate and such temporary cer-
tificates shall in any event be
revoked and annulled immediate-

ly following the examination date
following the issuance thereof."
Section 2. The above and fore-
going ordinance shall be published
once in NEWPORT BALBOA
NEWS TIMES, a newspaper of
,eneral circulation printed, pub -
ished and circulated in the City
A Newport Beach, and shall take
effect and be in force thirty days
after its paseage.
I hereby certify that the above
and foregoing ordinance was in-
troduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach held on the 6th
day of May, 1940, and was finally
passed and adopted on the 13th
day of May, 1940, by said City
Council, at an adjourned regular
meeting thereof, by the following
vote, to -wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Read,
Allen, Brown, Gordon.
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None.
