Ordinance No. 551
An Ordinance Repealing Certain
Other Ordinances and parts of
Ordinances of the City of Newport
Beach.
The Council of the City of New-
port Beach do ordain as follows:
WHEREAS, during the last
forty years, there have been en-
acted many Ordinances of the City
of Newport Beach, the provisions
of which have become obsolete or
have been superseded by State
law, or have been repealed by im-
plication by other Ordinances of
the City of Newport Beach, but
which Ordinances have not been
expressly repealed;
The City Council does hereby spe-
cifically repeal those Certain Or-
dinances and parts of Ordinances
hereinafter enumerated, to -wit:
Ordinance No. 3. An Ordinance
providing for the printing and
posting of Ordinances.
Ordinance No. 6. An Ordin ^nce
imposing an annual tax upon dogs
and prescribing rules for the hand-
ling of stray and unlicensed dogs.
Ordinance No. T. An Ordinance
prohibiting gambling, drunken-
ness, fighting, loitering, keeping
of disorderly houses, opium dens,
etc.
Ordinance No. 8. An Ordinance
licensing intoxicating liquor.
Ordinance No. 9. An Amend-
ment to the License Ordinance.
Ordinance No. 11. An Ordinance
requiring an annual report of any
company furnishing water to the
City.
Ordinance No. 12. An Ordinance
providing for the advertising by
the Clerk for bids for printing for
the year 1907.
Ordinance No. 14. An Ordinance
prohibiting signs over sidewalks.
Ordinance No. 16. An Ordinance
prescribing rates for water com-
panies for the year 1907.
Ordinance No. 20. An Ordinance
amending Ordinance No. 8. regu-
lating sale of intoxicating liquor.
Ordinance No. 28. An Ordinance
providing for certain requirements
for the construction of walls and
breakwaters located upon the Bay.
Ordinance No. 32. An Ordinance
requiring companies supplying
water to furnish yearly statement
for the year 1907.
Ordinance No. 37. An Ordinance
prohibiting the owners of teams
and vehicles from parking same
In public alleys longer than twenty
minutes.
Ordinance No. 38. An Ordinance
fixing and prescribing rates to be
collected by water companies for
the year 1908.
Ordinance No. 40. An Ordinance
prohibiting water users from turn-
ing on water or tapping water
mains without the consent of the
water company.
Ordinance No. 42. An Ordinance
providing for meeting place for
Board of Trustees.
Ordinance No. 43. An Ordinance
establishing fire districts and reg-
ulating building construction.
Ordinance No. 47. An Ordinance
fixing water rates for the year
1909.
Ordinance No. 50. An Ordinance
prohibiting the operation of motor
vehicles upon sidewalks.
Ordinance No. 51. An Ordinance
declaring the dumping of garbage
and trash on the beach a nuisance.
Ordinance No. 52. An Ordinance
regulating the use of gasoline en-
gines and motor boats.
Ordinance No. 56. An Ordinance
fixing water rates for the year
1910.
Ordinance No. 59. An Ordinance
providing for the muzzling of
dogs.
Ordinance No. 60• An Ordinance
amending Ordinance No. 46, per-
taining to the carrying of conceal-
ed weapons.
Ordinance No. 61. An Ordinance
fixing rates to be charged by the
Municipal Water Works.
Ordinance No. 62. An Ordinance
providing for meeting place for
Board of Trustees.
Ordinance No. 64. An Ordinance
regulating the sale of intoxicating
liquor.
Ordinance No. 66. An Ordinance
establishing a maximum speed
limit for automobiles.
Ordinance No. 68. An Ordinance
regulating plumbing and perscrib-
ing rules for plumbers.

nance declaring an excess of
water exists and authorizing sale
of such excess.
Ordinance No. 103. An Ordi-
nance levying property tax for
year 1914 -1915.
Ordinance No. 115. An Ordi-
nance leyving tax for the year
1915 -1916.
Ordinance No. 121. An Ordi-
nance fixing the compensation of
certain officers.
Ordinance No. 122. An Ordi-
nance creating Fire Districts.
