ORDINANCE NO. 594
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1949
EDITION
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Ordinance
573 is hereby amended to read as
follows: - -
"SECTION 'l. That certain document
three copies of which are on file for the
use and examination of the public in
the office of the City Clerk and marked
and designated 'Uniform Building Code,
1949 Edition' is hereby adopted as the
building code of the City of Newport
Beach for the purpose of regulating
the erection, construction, enlargement,
alteration, repair, moving, removal,
conversion, demolition, occupancy,
equipment, use, heights, area and main-
tenance of buildings or structures;
providing for the issuance of permits
and collection of fees therefor; and for
the declaring and establishing of fire
districts except as otherwise modified,
amended or changed. Each and all of
the regulations, provisions, penalties,
conditions and terms of said Building
Code, 1949 Edition are hereby referred
to, adopted and made a part hereof as
if fully set forth at length."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be
published once in the Newport - Balboa
Press, a newspaper printed and pub-
lished and of general circulation in the
City of Newport Beach.
The foregoing ordinance was intro-
duced at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach
held on the 25th day of April, 1949,
and was finally passed and adopted on
the 9th day of May, 1949, at a regular
meeting of the City Council by t h e
following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN Greeley,
Robertson, Isbell, Blue, Drake
NOES, COUNCILMEN None
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN None
