ORDNANCE AMENDING SEC
T£ON 3252 OF THE MUNI(
IPAL CODE AND ADDING
SECTIONS 8250.1, 3252.1
3252.2 AND 8268.1 THERETO
PROVIDING FOR THE DES

STREETS, THROUGE
STREETS, STOP STREET:
AND ANGLE PARKING.
The City Council of the City o:
Newport Beach does ordain w
follows:
SECTION 1: Section 3252 of thi
Municipal Code of the City o:
Newport Beach is hereby amend
ed to read as follows, to -wit:
"Section 3252. Stop at Througl
Streets and Stop Signs. (a) Thosi
streets and parts of streets de
scribed in Section 3252.1 are here
by declared to be through street:
for the purposes of this section.
"'(b) The provisions of this sec
tion shall also apply at one of
more entrances to the intersec
tions as such entrances and inter
sections are so described in this
Chapter.
(c) The provisions of this sec
tion shall apply at those highwal
railway grade crossings so de
scribed in' this Chapter.
(d) When stop signs are erecter
as herein provided at the entrance
to any intersection or at any rail
way grade crossing, every drivel
of a vehicle and every motormar
of a streetcar shall stop as re
quired by the vehicle code."

hereby added to the Municipa:

Newport Blvd.: from Short Street
to Balboa Boulevard.
Santa Ara Ave.: from Newport
Boulevard to 15th Street.
Clay St.: from Westminster Ave-
nue to Irvine Avenue.
Riverside Ave.: from State High-
way ORA -60 -A to Cliff Drive.
Cliff Drive: from Riverside Ave.
to Irvine Avenue.
Tustin Ave.: from Cliff Drive to
15th Street.
Marine Ave.: from Bayside Drive
to the South Speedway.

"Section 3252.2. The following
intersections are hereby designat-
ed as stop intersections at which
the City Traffic Engineer shall
erect and maintain stop signs as
provided in Section 3251 of the
Municipal Code of the City of
Newport Beach:
Balboa Blvd. at McFadden (south
bound traffic only)
Balboa Blvd. at Main Street
Lafayette Avenue at Via Lido
32nd Street at Lafayette Avenue

SECTION 5: Section 3268.1 is
hereby added to the Municipal
Code of the City of Newport
Beach to read as follows:
"Section 3268.1. Upon the fol-

SECTION 6: It is hereby de-
clared that this is an ordinance
for the protection of public health
and safety and its urgency arises
from the following facts: the large
volume of automobile and truck
traffic within the city limits of
Newport Beach, especially over
weekends, together with the nee-
essity for the orderly and proper
handling thereof, plus the large
number of pedestrians crossing the
city streets, requires the immedi-
ate passage and taking effect of
this ordinance.
SECTION 7: This ordinance
shall be published at least once in
the Newport - Balboa Press, a
newspaper of general circulation
printed and published in the City
of Newport Beach, and shall be-
come effective forthwith upon its
final passage.
The above and foregoing ordi-
nance was introduced at a regu-
lar meeting of the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach held
on the 25th day of September 1950,
and was finally passed and adopt -
ed on the 9th day of October,
1950, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES, Councilmen Finsh, Drake,
Greeley, Blue Isbell
NOES, Councilmen None.
ABSENT, Councilmen None.
