ORDINANCE No. 647
AN ORDINANCE CHANGING
THE ZONING OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY
The City Council of the City of
Newport Beach does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1: Section 9102.2 of
the Municipal Code of the City of
Newport Beach, is hereby amend-
ed as follows:
"That the following described
property lying within the City of
Newport Beach, County of Or-
ange, State of California, more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the point of in-
tersection of the southwesterly
prolongation of the northwester -
lx- boundary line of the Irvine
Subdivision, as shown on a map
•recorded in Book 1, Page 88 of
Miscellaneous Maps, Records of
Orange County, California, with
the line of ordinary high tide
of the ,Pacific Ocean in Newport
Bay and designated 'North
Line' in the decree rendered in
the action entitled: City of New-
port Beach, Plaintiff, vs. F. M.
Strobridge and others, Defend-
ants. Case No. 23686 of the Su-
perlor +Court of Orange County,
California, a certified copy of
which decree was recorded Sep-
tember 179th, 1928, in Book 201,
page 253 of Official Records of
Said County, running thence
North 390 43' 45" East along the
said northwesterly line of Irvine
Subdivision 241.63 feet to a point
in the southerly line of the one -
hundred foot California State
Highway right of way, as de-
scribed in Deed from F. M. Stro-
bridge and Myrtle E. Strobridge,
to the State of California, re-
corded September 14th 1929, in
Book 304, page 385 of Official
Records of said County; thence
South 700 05' 30" East along the
southerly line of said Highway
187.92 feet to the point of be-
ginning df'a curve deflecting to
the left, thence easterly along
said curve concave to the north
and having a radius of 1,550
feet, a distance of .222.72 feet
to a point in the southerly line
of said State Highway; thence
,$pµth 90 27' Westi 339.42 feet
to a point in the said line
of ordinary high tide of the
Pacific Ocean in Newport Bay
and designated "North Line ";
thence North 73° 34' 20" West
along said ordinary high tide
line 83.55. .feet; thence North
370 15' 30" West along said ordi-
nary high tide line 215.35 feet;
thence North 740 17' 11' West
along said ordinary high tide
line 289.84 feet to the point of
beginning,
as shown on Sheet No. 4 of the
District Map attached to Ordl-
nance No. 635 and referred to in
Section 9102.2 of the Municipal
Code, and made a part thereof be,
and it is hereby, rezoned from an
R -3 District to a C -1 -H District.
SECTION 2. That the City En-
gineer of the City of Newport
Beach is hereby instructed and di-
rected to change the above Dis-
trict Maps so as to show the zon-
ing described in Section 1 hereof,
and, as said District Map shall
have been so amended, the same
shall remain in full force and ef-
fect and a part of Ordinance No.
635 of the City of Newport Beach
and Section 9102.2 of the Munici-
pal Code of the City of Newport
Beach.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance
shall be published once in the
Newport Harbor Ensign, a news-
paper of general circulation,
printed and published in the City
of Newport Beach, and the same
shall be in force and effect 30 days
after this passage.
The foregoing Ordinance was
introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach held on the 23rd
day of July, 1951, and was finally
passed and adopted on the 13th
day of August, 1951., by the follow-
ing vote, to Wit:
