AN ORDINANCE OF THE NEW-
PORT BEACH CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING AN AMEND-
MENT TO THE CONTRACT
PROVIDING FOR THE PAR -
TICIPATION OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH IN
THE CALIFORNIA S T A T E
EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT
SYSTEM, MAKING ITS EM-
PLOYEES MEMBERS OF
SAID SYSTEM.
The City Council of the City of
Newport Beach does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. That an amend-
ment to the Contract providing for
the participation of City of New-
port Beach in the State Em-
ployees' Retirement System, is
hereby authorized between the
City Council of City of Newport
Beach and the Board of Adminis-
tration, 'California State Em-
ployees' Retirement System, a
copy .of said amendment being at-
tached hereto, marked "Exhibit
'A ", and by such reference made a
part hereof as though herein set
out in full.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and
Qity Clerk of the City of Newport
Beach are hereby authorized, em-
powered, and directed to execute
said amendment for and on be-
half of said Agency.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance
shall take effect thirty days after
the date of its adoption, and prior
to the expiration of five days from
the passage thereof shall be pub-
lished at least once in the New-
port Harbor Ensign, a newspaper
of general circulation, published
and circulated in the City of New-
port Beach, and thenceforth and
thereafter the same shall be in full
force and effect.
Adopted and approved this 11th
day of September 1951.
