ORDINANCE NO, 1021
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ADDING
SECTION 4241 TO THE NEW-
PORT BEACH MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO CON-
DUCT
The City Council of the City
of Newport Beach does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 4241 is
added to the Newport Beach
Municipal Code to read:
"SECTION 4241. Obstruct -
ing Sidewalk. No person shall
loiter, stand or sit in or upon
any public sidewalk or public
walkway area except upon the
one-half of said sidewalk or
walkway nearest the adjoin-
ing property line. This sec-
tion does not prohibit sitting
on the seat of a bench placed
upon a sidewalk with the ap-
proval of the City or standing
on the sidewalk at a bus stop
for the purpose of boarding a
bus. "
SECTION 2. This ordinance
shall be published once in the
official newspaper of the City,
and the same shall be effective
30daysafter the date of its ad-
option.
This ordinance was introduced
at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Newport
Beach held on the 13th day of
November, 1962, and was ad-
opted on the 26th day of No-
vember, 1962, by the follow-
ing vote, to wit:.
