ORDINANCE NO. 1223
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING
SECTIONS 2.12.010, 2.12.030 AND 2.12..080 OF THE
NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO ADMINIS-
TRATIVE DEPARTMENTS
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2.12.010 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code is amended'to read.
"2.12.010 Departments Desi nated. The administrative
service o the City is divided into t o following departments.
Building Department
Finance Department
Fire Department
General Services Department
Library Department
Marine Safety Department
'Parks, Beaches and Recreation Department
Planning Department
Police Department
Public Works Department"
SECTION 2. Section 2.12.030 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code is amended to read.
"2.12.030 Building Department. The Building Department
shall• a un er t o supervision of the Building Director. The
functions of the Building Department shall include.
(a) Regulation of building construction.
(b) Enforcement of the building, electrical, plumbing,
and swimming pool regulations.
(c) Enforcement of the zoning, sign, and trailer park
and mobilehome regulations."
SECTION 3. Section 2.12.080 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code is amended to read.
"2.12.080 .Marine Safet De artment. The Marine Safety
Department s all e,un er t e supervision of the Marine
Safety Director. The functions of the Marine Safety Depart -
ment shall include.
(a) Assistance to persons who may be in danger of
drowning.
(b) Enforcement of the provisions of this Code as
directed pertaining to the use of public beaches within the
City,"
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effec-
tive 30 days after the date.of its adoption.

the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 26th
day, of June
1967,
and
was adopted on
the
10th_ day
of July
1967, by
the
following vote,
to
wit:

Marshall, Gruber, Cook, Forgit, Shelton
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
