AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
ADDING SECTION 12.40.055 TO THE NEWPORT BEACH
MUNICIPAL CODE, ENTITLED "PARKING OF COMMERCIAL
VEHICLES IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS PROHIBITED"
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach DOES ORDAIN
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 12.40.055 is added to the Newport
Beach Municipal Code to read:
"12.40.055 Parking of Commercial Vehicles in.Residential
Districts Prohibited. A. PROHIBITION; EXCEPTION. It shall be
unlawful to park any heavy duty commercial vdiicle on a street
in any residential district between the hours of 12 :00 midnight
and 8:00 a.m.; EXCEPT, when such vehicle is parked in connection
with, and in aid of, the performance of a service to the property
adjacent to where such vehicle is parked.
16 B. HEAVY DUTY COMMERCIAL VEHICLE DEFINED. For the purpose
of this Section, 'heavy duty commercial vehicle' shall mean a
single vehicle or combination of vehicles having more than two
axles, or a single vehicle or combination of vehicles twenty feet
(201) or more in length and which are used for commercial
purposes, and shall include, but shall not be limited to, any
van, truck, or combination truck and trailer."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in the
official newspaper of the City and the same shall be effective
30 days after the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 22nd day of
1972 and was adopted on the l7th day of June ,
1972 by the following vote, to wit:
