AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ADDING
SECTION 20.08.122 TO THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL
CODE, ENTITLED "OUTDOOR LIGHTING"
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach DOES ORDAIN
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 20.08.122 is added to the Newport
Beach Municipal Code to read:
"20,08.122 Outdoor Lighting. No swimming pool, tennis
court or other use which, in the opinion of the Planning Com-
mission is of a similar nature:, and which is located within
any 'R' District or closer than two hundred feet to the
boundary of any 'R' District, shall be lighted externally
unless a use permit shall first have been secured for the
installation, maintenance and operation of the lighting fix-
tures. This provision shall not be construed so as to require
a use permit for lighting fixtures which are normally incidental
to the use of a residential structure. ".
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in the
official newspaper of the City and the same shall be effective 30
days after the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 12th day of
June , 1972 and was adopted on the 26th day of June
1972, by the following vote, to wit:
