At approximately 1:40 a.m., Detectives Graham, Psaros, Stark and I were all in the parking lot on foot
watching the unruly crowd. Numerous security persons were making weak attempts to coordinate the
taxicabs, the cars, and the unruly people leaving the lounge. They were very ineffective.
While watching the crowd we heard glass breaking and a couple fights erupt. Security personnel quickly
ran to the problem areas and the fights were soon broken up. However, at no time did NBPD receive any
calls for service from security. The only calls for assistance came from Detective Graham and myself.
After the fight was quelled, one of the security persons made a comment to Detective Stark indicating he
recognized him as a police officer. Only after security knew NBPD was on property did they start to
aggressively move the crowds and monitor disturbances. Only after security knew NBPD was on
property did they make announcements about drinking and driving. Security's demeanor changed
completely once NBPD's presence was known.
