Subject: Suggested correction to February 9, 2012 Planning Commission minutes
Rob,
At its February 23, 2012 meeting, the Planning Commission will be considering the Draft Minutes for its February g, 2012 regular
meeting available as" 2 .o_DraftMinutes_o2- 0g- 12.pdf"at:
http, / /www.newportbeachca.aov /PLN /PLANNING COMMISSION.asp?path= /02 -2a -2012
I am quoted in the second paragraph (under Public Comments) as saying:
"He suggested staff encourage Members of the Harbor Commission to develop a proposal that would be in character with the City
of Newport Beach."
It was certainly not my intent to suggest thatthe Harbor Commission was unaware of existing rules or that they should be
encouraged to develop an independent proposal for ExlorOcean. In view of that misinterpretation, please forward to the Planning
Commission this suggested revision to that sentence in the minutes, which I believe would more accurately summarize what I said
(or at least intended to say):
"He hoped City staff could be proactive in helping ExplorOcean develop a proposal more in keeping with the character of Newport
Beach and its building regulations."
Thank you,
Jim Mosher
