AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING SECTION 14.12.090 OF THE
NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE ESTABLISHING THE
BASIC WATER QUANTITY RATE AT 93 CENTS PER HUNDRED
• CUBIC FEET EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1988
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby
ordain as follows:
Section 1: Section 14.12.090 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
1114.12.090 Quantity Charges.
(a) In addition to the readiness to serve charges
set forth in this chapter, the rate for water supplied to
consumers through a meter, other than pursuant to a written
contract approved by the City Council, shall be $0.93 per 100
cubic feet, per month, per meter.
(b) City water rates shall be adjusted to reflect
Metropolitan Water District rate changes.
(c) Should the automatic adjustment require a water
rate increase, the amount of the increase shall be added to the
quantity charges and shall be equal to the Metropolitan Water
District increase, raised to the next highest whole penny for each
100 cubic feet used."
Section 2: The City Clerk shall cause the same to be
published once in the official newspaper within fifteen (15) days
after its adoption.
Section 3: This Ordinance was introduced at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on
the 25th day of April, 1988, and adopted on the 9th day of
May, 1988, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEMBERS Cox, Hart, Maurer,
Plummer Sansone Strauss. Turner
NOES,
