Apparently, the city is concerned about inadequate parking. I would like to inform you of a few facts that could possibly have some bearing on your position in this matter. I am the Postmaster in CDM. The post office is directly across the street from Rose Bakery. We have a large parking lot, it accommodates 14 cars plus it has a handicapped space. It is very rare that we ever use our entire parking structure. We have shared our parking facility with the customers from Rose Bakery ever since they opened. Our lot is more than adequate to meet the needs of both our businesses. I am of the opinion that all of the businesses here need to assist and support each other. These are tough economic times and we must all work together if any of us are going to succeed. I would never deny their customers the use of our parking facility. Their customers are welcome to use the spaces we are not using. Rose Bakery has become a landmark in this town. The locals love to sit there and visit and enjoy their food. Limiting the number of tables denies many people this pastime. I feel that this is really a disservice to the residents of CDM. We reed to have more places that people can just sit and visit, like in the old days. The city is negatively impacting the residents of this city on a social as well as a financial level by removing tables. Many people will not patronize a business if there is no place to sit. If the little businesses in this town do not do well, neither does the city. We reed more tables, not less. I hope you will consider this. I know I speak for many when I ask that you allow Rose Bakery to put back the removed tables.
