To my Neiehbors and the Newport Beach Plannine Department
RE: Project File No PA2008 -193 McKeehan ,16 Bay Island
Sorry I did not get this to you sooner. Unfortunately, life gets busy, and we were out of town.
As you may know, THEY got my trees, just like I thought they would. THEY claimed the 2 trees
referred to in the Coastal Commission report were on the island. But, someone drilled 1"x
6"deep holes into the front 2 trees and filled them with acid. They will probably die just in time
for the new bridge. THEY -Nice People: The City and Bay Island.
In any case, it is my thoughts are that neither entity will ever keep their word about traffic,
parking, storage or killing trees.
Present plans are for the 3 houses to be remodeled before the bridge begins. We are probably
looking at least 3 -4 years of a mess.
For Consideration:
(1) Storage will be on the vacant residential lot on Island Ave., next to the Silvers. Why not
on the Island?
(2) The height limitation means more space for more people and more cars to be parked on
the street.
(3) Also, can a residentially zoned lot be used for storage of an off- site construction project?
(4) Shouldn't the storage be at the site on Bay Island?
(5) Parking is always a problem, but should there be legal parking in the middle of a red
zone? This is unsafe and presently exists.
We recognize that Bay Island has a unique set of problems, but please acknowledge that they
choose this venue.
We who live on Island Avenue, or adjacent, need to be tolerant of the residents, but we cannot be
used as their dumping grounds.
The above is to make known issues that need more deliberation and consideration by all who are
involved.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
