SUBJECT: Macklin Subdivision
Newport Parcel Map No. 2006 -026 (PA2006 -088)
PROJECT SITE: 6 Barrenger Court
APPLICANT: Pfeiler & Associates on behalf of Richard Macklin
The applicant requests approval of a Tentative Parcel Map to subdivide an existing
single- family lot into two (2) single - family parcels.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Planning Commission remove this item from calendar.
DISCUSSION
After completion of the review of this application, it was determined that approval would
require an amendment to the Land Use Element of the General Plan. Consideration of
the applicant's request requires a fundamental change to the allowable density of the
Belcourt tract as established by the Land Use Element. Since the amendment would
impact a wider geographic area than the applicant's property, the applicant is precluded
from applying for such an amendment pursuant to Council Policy K -1. The density of
this tract and the policy of potential subdivisions within the tract will be addressed within
the comprehensive General Plan Update.
