A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF NE1vFORT
BEACH DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO VrCRTE, CLOSE UP AND ABANDON
FOR PUBLIC STREET AED PUBLIC WAY PURPOSES A CERTAIN PORTION OF
THE RhIhE WITHIN Si.ID CITY.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do resolve
las follows:
SECTION ONE.
It is the intention of the Board of Trustees to order that
portion of the public street and public way nereirafter described
within the said City to be closed -up, vacated and abandoned for
public street and public way purposes; the said portion of said
street and way to be closed -up, vacated and abandoned Dor public
street and public way purposes is described as follows, to wit:
All that portion of the Rhine within the said City, beginning
lat a point in the easterly line of Block 529 of a Map of Lancaster's
Addition to Newport Beach, as per map recorded in Map Book 5, page
14, Records of "range County, California, which point is 15.31 feet
southerly of the northeasterly corner of Lot 1 of the aforesaid
Block 529, measured along the easterly lire of said Block 529;
thence North 2C degrees, 54 minutes 3C seconds East, 23C.C3 feet
to a point of the intersection with the northerly prolongation
of the easterly line of said Block 529 and the northerly lire of
Washington Avenue; thence North 89 degrees, 15 minutes, 3( seconds
East, 41.45 feet to a point; thence South 27 degrees 3C minutes
East, 26.07 feet to a point of the intersection of the easterly
line of the Rhine and the southwesterly bulkhead line established
by the war Department January 18,1917 and which bulkhead lire
extends from U.S. Bulkhead Station No. 124 to U.S. Bulkhead
Station No. 125 as shown upon the Map of Newport Bay of the War
Department of aforesaid date; thence South 2C degrees,54 minutes

3C seconds Kest along the easterly lire of the Rhine, 234.65 feet
to a point in the northerly line of 31st. Street; thence north-
westerly along the northerly line of 31st. Street. around a
circular curve with a radius of 235 feet to a point in the
easterly line of the aforesaid Block 529, the place of beginning.
SECTION TWO.
That the pbulic work herein provided for, is for the closing-
jup of the portion of the street and public way herein described in
Section One, and it appearing to the Board of Trustees that there
are no costs, damages or expense occasioned by or arising out of
said work and that no assessment is necessary to pay the costs,
damages or expenses of said work and that therefore no assessment
Idittrict of lands to be affected or benefited by said work or
limprovement is necessary.
SECTION THREE.
The Street Superintendent of the City of Newport Beach is
(hereby directed to cause to be conspicuously posted along the line
of said contemplated improvement, at not more than three hmr.dred
feet in distance apart upon said street and publ is way and not
than three in all upon said street and public way, notices of the
passage of this resolution, said notice to be headed °PiOTICE OF
PUBLIC kORK", in letters not less than one inch in length and
stating the fact of the passage of this resolution, its date and
briefly the work of improvement proposed,being that of vacating
the portion of the Rhine herein described, and the said notice
shall refer to this resolution for futther particulars; the said
Street Superintendent shall alsoncause a similar notice to that
herein described, to be published by four successive insertions in
the Newport News, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and cir-
culated in said City of Newport Beach (there being no daily news-
paper so printed, published and circulated in said City).

SECTION FOUR.
The City Clerk chall certify to the passage of tris resolution
cause a minute thereof to be recorded in the minutes of the
ing of the Board of Trustees at whihc this resolution was
Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach
approved this 2Cth day of October, 1919.
