A RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND ALSO THE PUBLIC
NECESSITY DEMANDS THE COMPLETION OF THE MUNICIPAL GAS DISTRIBUTING
SYSTEM OF SAID CITY: THAT THE SAME IS NECESSARY AND CONVENIENT TO
CARRY OUT THE OBJECTS, PURPOSES AND POWERS OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH, AND THE COST OF WHICH WILL BE TOO GRAT TO BE F -AID OUT OF
THE ORDINARY ANNUAL INCOME AND REVENUE THEREOF.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach, as the
legislative branch thereof, determining and resolves as follows:
SECTION ONE.
Resolved, that it be and is hereby determined that the public
interest and also the public necessity demands the completion of
the municipal gas distributing system of the City of Newport Beach,
consisting of the acquisition of all necessary material, apparatus,
appliances, machinery and equipment with which to erect and constru
and the erection and construction of a gas container or holder of
a size andcapacity to retain and hold sufficient gas to furnish
and supply the inhabitants of the City of Newport Beach with gas
for a continuous period of twelve hours, being of a capacity of
approximately 50,000 cubic feet.
T he cost of the completion of the municipal gas distributing
system, to wit: the erection and construction of the described
gas container or holder, is estimated to be the sum of $251C00.001
which sum is and will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary
annual income and revenue of the City of Newport Beach.
SECTION TWO.
The completion of the municipal gas distributing system of
the City of Newport Beach by the erection and construction of said
gas container or holder, is necessary and convenient to carry out
the objects, purposes and powers of the City of Newport Beach, for
the purpose of providing means and methods with which to furnish

and supply to the inhabitants of the City of Newport Beach an
adequate constant supply of gas for domestic uses.
The above and foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular
meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach
held on the 6th day of March, 1922, and was passed by the vote
of two - thirds and more of all the members thereof and on said
day signed and approved by the President of said Board of Trustees,
as follows:-
AYES, TRUSTEES: 4.:)P. Greeley, J.J. Schmitken, Beo. P. Wilson,
Conrad Richter, O.H. Burke.
NOES, TRUSTEES: NONE
ABSENT TRUSTEES: NONE.
The above and foregoing Resolution having been passed by the
vote of more than two- thirds of all the members of the Board of
Trustees, of the City of Newport Beach, the same is approved
by me this 6th day of March, 1922.
