A Resolution by the Board of Trustees of the
City of Newport Beach declaring its intention to
order an improvement made in said city, describing
the improvement, the land deemed necessary to be
taken therefor, specifying the exterior boundaries
of.a district of land to be benefited by the im-
provement, and to be assessed to pay the damages, c
costs and expenses thereof, directing the posting
and publication of notice, and designating a news-
paper for that purpose.

The Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach do
resolve.and declare as folla,vs'-
Section 1.
Resolved, that the public interest and also the public
convenience require, and it is the intention of the Board of
Trustees of the city of Newport Beach to order an improvement made
in saidcity, andwhich improvement is described as:
The widening in part of that certain public alley which
extends from the northerly line of Central Avenue northerly be-
tween Lots 6- 5- 10- 11- 12- 13 -14 -15 and 16 in Block 5 of Balboa Tract,
as per map thereof recorded in Book_ 4 at page 11 of Miscellaneous
Maps, Orange County Records, to the southerly line of another al-
ley which extends easterly and westerly, through said Block 5 of
Balboa Tract, from Palm Street to Adams Street, the widening there-
of to consist of increasing the width of the first mentioned alley
at the northerly end thereof by abolishing the two right angle
corners, onexbrmed by the union of the easterly lire of said
alley and the northerly line of said Lot 13, and one by the union
of the westerly lin of said alley and the northerly iine of s_id...:_
Lot 8 in said Block 5 Balboa Tract, and replacing said right angle.:

corners with curved corners, which curves shall be as follows:
(a) Commencing at a point on the easterly line of said alley
20 ft. south of the northwest corner of the described Lot 13, thenc
northeasterly on and pursuing a curve with a radius of 29 ft. to a
point on the northerly l_.ne of said Lot 13,- 20 feet easterly of th
northwesterly corner thereof.
(b) Commencing at a point on the westerly line of paid alley
20 feet south of the northeasterly corner of the described Lot 8,
thence northwesterly on and pursuing a curve with a radius cf 20
feet to a point on the northerly line of said Lot 8,- 20 feet west-
erly of the northeasterly corner thereof.
( the use in this Resolution of the words "said alley"
means, and shall at all times be construed to mean, the alley to
be widened in part as above described.)
( The use in this Resolution of the word "improvement"
means, and shall at all times be construed to mean the widening of
said alley as above described.)
Section 2.
Resolved, that it will be necessary to take land for the
improvement, and the land deemed necessary to be taken therefor is
located in the city of Newport Beach, Orange County, California,
particularly described-as follows:-
Parcel 1. All that certain niece or parcel of land being a portion
of Lot 13, Block 5, of a Map of the Balboa Tract, as recorded in
Miscellaneous Maps Book 4, page 11, Records of Orar_ge County, Cali-
fornia, and described as beginning at the most northerly corner of
the said Lot 13; then --e southwesterly along the northwesterly line
of said Lot 13, a distance of 20 feet to a point; thence north-
easterly around a circular curve with a radius of 20 feet concave
to the southeast, a distance of 31.42 feet to a point in the north-
easterly line of the said Lot 13; thence northwdsterly along the
northeasterly line of the said Lot 13 a distance of 20 feet to a
point, the place of beginning.

than 300 feet in distance apart, but not less than three (3) in
all, notices of the passageof this resolution; each notice shall
be headed - NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORK - in letters of not less than
one inch in length, shall be in legible charactem, state the fact
of the passage of this resolution, its date, and briefly the im-
provement proposed, and refer to this resolution for further par-
ticulars,
There is no daily newspaper published and circulated in
the city of Newport Beach, the Street Superintendent shall there-
fore cause a notice similar in substance to be published by four
(4) successive insertions in NEWPORT NEWS, a weekly newspaper pub-
lished and circulated in the city of Newport Beach, and which NEW-
PORT NEWS is hereby designated for that purpose.
The above and foregoing Resolution was introduced before
the Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 1st day of May, 1922, read, consider-
ed, designated Resolution of Intention No. / �7 7 , and passed by
the vote of the following named members of said Board of trustees:-
