FROM K STREET TO L STREET, WITHIN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS,the Board of Trustees of tine City of Newport Peach
did on the 17th day of April .1922, duly adopt Resolution No. 171
ordering the following work to be done;
That cement pipe sanitary sgwers
be constructed in the following loca-
tions:
In F Street from the manhole al-
ready constructed at the intersection
of the center line of F Street and a
line 10 feet southerly of and parallel
with the northerly line of CentTAl Av-
enue, thence northerly to the wester-
ly prolongation of the center line of
the first alley northerly of Central Av-
enue:
And in the first alley northerly of
Central Avenue from the center line
of F Street to a line which is 6 feet
westerly of and parallel with the
westerly line of I Street.
And in I Street from the manhole
already constructed at the intersec-
tion of the centeC line of I Street and
a line which is 20 feet southerly of
and parallel with the northerly line
of Central Avenue, thence northerly
to a line which is 246 feet northerly of
the manhole already constructed at
the intersection of Central Avenue
and I Street.
And in the first alley northerly of
Central Avenue from the center line
of I Street to a line which is 6 feet
westerly of and parallel with the
westerly line of J Street.
And in J Street from the manhole
already constructed at the intersec-
tion of the center line of J Street,
and a line which is 20 feet southerly
of and parallel with the northerly line
of Central Avenue, thence northerly
to the center line of the first alley

And in the first alley northerly of
Central Avenue from the center line
J Street to a line which is 5 feet

westerly of and parallel with the west-
erly line of K Street.
And in K Street from the manhole
already constructed at the intersec-
tion of the center line of K Street, and
a line which is 20 feet southerly of
and parallel with the northerly line of
Central Avenue, thence northerly to
the center line of the first alley north -
lerly of Central Avenue.
And in the first alley northerly of
Central Avenue from the center line
of Ii Street to a line which is 5 feet
westerly of and parallel with the
westerly line of L Street.
All of the aforesaid cement pipe san-
itary sewers shall be constructed
across all street and alley intersec-
tions or portions thereof between the
points, on the grades, at the eleva-
tions and along the lines of said sew-
ers, together with manholes, cast iron
frames and covers, and other appur-
tenances, all as shown upon the plans
and profiles of said sewers Numbered
262 and 263, adopted by Resolution
No. 159, and plans Numbered 233, 234,
235 and 236, adopted by Resolution No.
132 of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Newport Beach, and on file in
the office of the City Engineer of said
City; and in further accordance with
specifications No. 27 adopted by Reso-
lution No. 97, as said specifications
No, 27 are amended by Resolution No.
131 of the Board of Trustees of said
city, and on file in the office of the City
Clerk. of said city.
Reference is hereby made to said
plans and specifications for a more
complete and particular description of
said work.
That the said contemplated work or
improvement in the opinion of said
Board of Trustees is of more than lo-
cal or ordinary public benefit, and the
said Board of Trustees make the ex-
pense of said work or improvement
chargeable upon the District herein-
after described, and declares that the
District in said City of Newport Beach
benefited by said work or improve-
ment is described as follows:
Beginning at the northeast comer
of Lot 7, Block 28, of a map of the
Eastside addition to the Balboa Tract,
as recorded in miscellaneous maps
book 4, page 20, Records of Orange
County, California, thence westerly
along the southerly line of Bay Ave-
nue, as said Bay Avenue is laid out
and shown upon a map of the afore-
said Eastside addition to the Balboa
Tract to the northwest corner of Lot
1, Block 23, of the aforesaid map of
the Eastside addition to the Balboa
Tract, thence southwesterly in a di-
rect line to the southwest corner of F
Street and Bay Avenue, thence south-
erly along the westerly line of F -
Street, and along the southerly pro-
tion of the westerly line of F
Street to a line which is 34 feet south-
erly of and parallel with the norther -
line of that portion of Central Avenue
lying easterly of G Street, thence east-
erly along the westerly prolongation
of a line which is 34 feet southerly of
and parallel with the northerly line of
that portion of Central Avenue lying
easterly of G Street and' along said
line which is 34 feet southerly.of and
parallel with the northerly line of
Central Avenue lying easterly of G

Street, to its intersection with the
southerly prolongation of the Wester-
ly line of L Street, thence northerly
along the southerly prolongation of
the westerly line of L Street, and
along the westerly line of L Street to
the northeast corner of Lot 7, Block
28, of the aforesaid map of the East -
side addition to the Balboa Tract, the
place of beginning, excepting there-
- from any lands forming any part of
any public street or alley,
_ - -- For further identification of said as-
sessment district reference is hereby
made to map thereof designated as
Plan No. 264, assessment district for
the improvement of the first alley
northerly of Central Avenue and other
streets and alleys approved by the
Board of Trustees of the said city on
the 20th day of March, 1922, and now
on file in the office of the City Clerk
on which said exterior boundaries of
said district are indicated by red bor-
der lines.
It is hereby determined and notice
Is hereby given, that serial bonds to
represent unpaid assessments and
bear interest at the rate of seven per
cent per annum will be issued hereun-
der in the manner provided by the Im-
provement Bond Act of 1915, the last
installment of which bonds shall ma-
ture fourteen years from the 2nd day
Of July next succeeding nine months
from their date.
Except as herelnbefore stated, all
the proceedings for the aforesaid work
and improvements shall be had and
taken under and in accordance with
the provisions of an Act of the Legis-
lature of the State of Califonia known
and designated as the "Improvement
Act of 1911' as amended.
AM WHEREAS, by said Resolution the City Clerk was directed
to publish and post a notice inviting proposals for doing said
work as required by law, and the time for opening said bids was
fixed at 7:30 o'clock P.M. of the 8th day of May, 1922, and the
said Board did in open session on the said 8th day of May, 1922,
publicly open, examine and declare all scaled proposals or bids
offered for the aforesaid work;
N017 THEREFORF.,be it resolved by the said Board of Trustees
that the said Board hereby rejects all of said bids except the
next herein mentioned and 'hereby awards the contract for said

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby
directed to return to the respective bidders all checks accompany-
ing said rejected bids, and he is also hereby directed.to post
notice of the award conspicuously for five days on or near the
Council Chamber Door of the Board of Trustees of said City, and to
publish said notice by two insertions in the Newport News, a
weekly newspaper, printed, published and circulated Pithin said
City, and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
